Nashville Waste Services is growing every day!

Today, our newest team members toured our Convenience Centers to learn about how we manage Electronic Waste (E-Waste) and Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) like cleaning chemicals, batteries, and used cooking oil. For Davidson County residents, these materials are accepted free of charge at our East and Ezell centers.

As we wrap up our Waste Workers Appreciation Week, we want to give another huge "Thank You!" to the amazing men and women who make up our team. Nashville Waste Services provides an essential service that keeps our city running, and we could not make that happen without all of them.

Our Waste Workers Appreciation Week celebration continues!

As we ended our day today, we honored our Music City Stars, giving them a chance to "walk the green carpet" with an employee appreciation and summer awards presentation. It was a chance to come together, celebrate accomplishments and enjoy a beautiful day as a team.

It's Waste and Recycling Worker Appreciation Week! This week, we're celebrating the people who keep Nashville running every day. From drivers and dispatchers to convenience center staff and the many team members working behind the scenes, their dedication helps make Music City sparkle.

Thanks to our partners Tennessee Environmental Council and Nashville Department of Transportation & Multimodal Infrastructure, we co-hosted our biggest community recycling cleanup yet! Our team helped residents recycle 18 different types of materials including electronics, glass, mattresses, and foam that can be recycled instead of taking up space in a landfill. If you missed the event, you can bring many of these materials to our Convenience Centers free of charge.

Nashville, meet the newest members of our fleet.

After their official debut on May 27th, our new trucks are now in service and helping collect trash and recycling across the city.

These vehicles give our crews the tools they need to continue serving this growing city, and you'll continue seeing them on routes throughout Nashville in the weeks ahead.

JUNETEENTH WEEK PICKUP SCHEDULE REMINDER:

All residents whose trash and recycling pickup day would be Friday, June 19th, will instead be serviced on Monday, June 15th.
Please have your carts out by 6 a.m., June 15th, for service.

Our shift to a four-day collection schedule means fewer overall schedule disruptions for residents and no change at all for many households during holiday weeks.

CMA Fest Nashville has arrived!

As country music fans make their way downtown, we're excited to welcome visitors from across the country to Music City.

We've uncovered a few "rejected" country song titles that somehow never made it onto the radio. Unfortunately, they never made it to air; but we still think they belong in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

What’s really in Nashville’s trash?

Over the past year, Nashville Waste Services has been conducting Davidson County’s first waste stream audit since 2017. This helps us better understand what materials are being thrown away and how much of our trash could have been recycled or composted. We use that data to see where we can improve waste reduction efforts across the county.

We’re currently completing the final waste sort and look forward to sharing the results in the future.
