A milestone moment for emergency care in our region. đźš‘

Colquitt Regional is proud to officially become South Georgia’s newest Level IV Trauma Center. This achievement reflects the dedication, training, and teamwork of our physicians, nurses, EMS partners, and support staff who work tirelessly to provide rapid, life-saving care when every second counts.

As a Level IV Trauma Center, Colquitt Regional is equipped to provide advanced trauma life support, evaluation, stabilization, diagnostic services, and transfer coordination for injured patients right here in South Georgia. This designation strengthens access to critical emergency care for the communities we serve throughout the region.

Today, we celebrate this incredible accomplishment and the exceptional people behind it. Thank you to every team member and community partner who helped make this possible!

Some of the most difficult and emotionally impactful calls in EMS involve children.

Caring for pediatric patients requires not only clinical skill, but also compassion, communication, adaptability, and the ability to respond calmly during incredibly stressful moments for both patients and families.

Today, EMS Week continues with EMS for Children Day, recognizing the unique challenges and responsibilities that come with providing emergency care for children in both pre-hospital and acute care settings. At PWW|AG Advisory Group, we recognize the EMS professionals who continue investing in pediatric education, emergency preparedness, injury prevention, and specialized training to help improve care for children and support the communities they serve.

From pediatric emergency response and first aid education to car seat safety and community preparedness programs, these efforts help make a lasting difference long before an emergency ever occurs.

Today, we thank the EMS professionals dedicated to caring for some of the most vulnerable patients they encounter every day.

“EMS clinicians can no longer simply get by with being competent caregivers. In this day and age, every EMS clinician must be seen and heard being a patient-centered advocate.”

Today, EMS Week continues with EMS Safety Day, recognizing the importance of protecting EMS professionals, patients, and the communities they serve.

In his recent EMS1 article, “Welcome to the Era of Performative Patient Care,” PWW|AG President Doug Wolfberg explores the growing reality EMS professionals face every day: operating in increasingly complex, high-risk, and highly visible environments.

Safety in EMS is about more than roadway response and scene awareness. It is also about communication, advocacy, professionalism under pressure, and ensuring clinicians are prepared to navigate difficult situations in real time. At PWW|AG Advisory Group, we believe conversations around EMS safety must continue evolving alongside the profession itself.

Education has always been one of the foundations of EMS.

It happens through continuing education, mentorship, field training, public outreach, and the everyday moments where experienced providers help prepare the next generation for the realities of this profession.

Today, EMS Week continues with EMS Education Day, recognizing both the importance of public education programs and the ongoing education EMS professionals commit themselves to throughout their careers. At PWW|AG Advisory Group, we know community education is just as important as professional education.

Last year, PWW|AG Vice President and EMS/Mobile Healthcare Consultant Matt Zavadsky joined AIMHI Academy of International Mobile Healthcare Integration for the webinar, “Engaging Multimedia Strategies,” focused on helping EMS agencies strengthen community trust and engagement through outreach, public education, social media, and communication strategies.

If you are looking for additional ways to educate and engage your community, this session remains an excellent resource for EMS leaders and agencies of all sizes. WATCH HERE-> https://aimhi.mobi/ondemand/on-demand-engaging-multimedia-strategies/
