📚 Preschool Sites for the Upcoming School Year

Nash County Public Schools will continue to offer 5-Star preschool programs at select locations for the upcoming school year. Families can find preschool classrooms at:
• Bailey Elementary School
• Red Oak Elementary School
• Middlesex Elementary School
• Williford Early Learning Center

Please note: Preschool classrooms will no longer be offered at Coopers Elementary School.

Nash County Public Schools is grateful to Freedom Industries for launching a community-wide Backpack/Supply Drive to support students across Nash County.

In partnership with the NCPS Federal Programs Department and Down East Partnership for Children, a critical need has been identified: nearly 400 students need assistance heading into the new school year, including approximately 350 students experiencing homelessness.

Every student deserves to start the school year prepared, confident, and ready to succeed. Community members are encouraged to support this effort by donating school supplies.

Donation boxes are located throughout Nash County, including at the NCPS Central Office (930 Eastern Avenue, Nashville, NC) and Williford Family Resource Center (1608 Curtis Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27803).

Nash County Public Schools will operate on a summer schedule from Monday, June 8, 2026, through Friday, July 31, 2026.

During this time, all schools and administrative offices will be open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and closed on Fridays.

Please note: All schools and offices will also be closed Monday, July 6, through Friday, July 10, 2026.

Help us spread the word please. Registration is open for the 2026 Youth STEAM Summit hosted by the Sustainable Forestry and Land Retention Project that we support. The STEAM Summit will be held July 16 at the Rocky Mount Event Center. This free event is a centerpiece of the SFLRP youth program. It is geared for rising 9th to 12th graders and their parents (as well as school counselors) to learn more about STEM subjects (including Agriculture) and to identify potential career pathways.
