This summer, teams are stepping out of the office and into the CRC to make a tangible impact!

From sorting hygiene supplies to packing kits that support our most vulnerable neighbors, corporate groups are helping bridge the gaps for individuals and families facing hardship, scarcity, and uncertainty.

The Community Resource Center is pleased to announce Melissa Jaggers as CRC’s next Chief Executive Officer. She will officially begin her role on June 15.

Melissa brings more than 25 years of nonprofit leadership experience focused on collaborative partnerships, strategic growth, and community impact across Middle Tennessee. Most recently, she served as President & CEO of Alignment Nashville.

“Melissa is a respected community leader with a deep commitment to collaboration, strategic leadership, and community impact,” said CRC Board Chair Tara Tenorio. “Her experience and leadership style align strongly with CRC’s mission and future direction.”

This Pride Month, we stand with LGBTQ+ neighbors in the fight for equitable access to basic essentials like hygiene products.

No one should have to navigate barriers to accessing care simply for being who they are.

🌈 A volunteer night built for community, connection, and showing up exactly as you are.

Pride Night at the CRC creates a judgment-free space for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies to serve together, meet new people, and make a real impact in our community.

We’ll pack hygiene kits, share laughs, and remind each other that care and dignity belongs to everyone. ✨

As of early 2026, 18 states still impose a sales tax on menstrual products. Commonly referred to as the “tampon tax” in many of these states, pads and tampons are still classified as “non-essential” or “luxury” items, while necessities like groceries and prescription medications are exempt.

Tennessee is one of them at a hefty 7% taxation rate on these critical supplies.

During Period Poverty Awareness Week, we’re calling attention to the barriers that continue to make basic care harder to access. Period products aren’t optional. They’re not a luxury. They’re a necessity tied to health, dignity, and daily life.

Periods don’t stop for inflation.
They don’t pause for hardship.
And they shouldn’t be taxed.

Period Poverty Awareness Week is here and we’re proud to stand alongside to shine a light on an issue that impacts millions every single month.

Periods don’t pause for hard times. They don’t stop for disasters, missed paychecks, or impossible choices. Yet too many people are still forced to go without the basic products they need to move through life with dignity.

At the CRC, this week is more than awareness. It’s action. It’s stocked shelves, packed kits, community partnerships, and conversations that refuse to let stigma stay silent.

Because menstrual products are not a luxury.
Because nobody should have to “make it work.”
Because shame doesn't belong in a bathroom stall.
Because dignity belongs to everyone.
