Today is International Overdose Awareness Day.

We remember the lives lost to overdose, support the families and friends who carry that grief, and recommit to prevention, education and action.

Overdose is preventable. Knowing the signs of an overdose, starting honest conversations, and helping people connect to support can save lives.

Today, communities across Tennessee and around the world are coming together to honor, learn and act. Find an International Overdose Awareness Day event near you and join this day of remembrance and prevention.

A new semester often comes with new responsibilities, changing routines, and a lot of pressure to keep up.

As classes begin, take time to check in with yourself. Are you feeling constantly overwhelmed? Are you getting enough sleep, eating regularly, and staying connected to people who support you? Do you know where to turn if you need help?

Taking care of yourself is part of success. Build in time to rest, create manageable routines, and remember that asking for support is a strength, not a setback.

A new school year can bring excitement, but it can also bring stress, pressure, and emotional ups and downs.

This is a good time to check in with yourself or with your student. How is sleep? Has mood or motivation changed? Are school demands, activities, or social pressures starting to feel overwhelming? Staying connected to trusted adults, healthy routines, and taking breaks when needed can make a real difference.

Sometimes the most important part of back-to-school is simply asking, “How am I/you really doing?”
