Nashwauk Fire Department The Nashwauk Fire Department is a volunteer paid-on-call department which provides fire, search & rescue and dive services with 19 active members.

The need of a Volunteer Fire Department became apparent shortly after the Village of Nashwauk was organized. Therefore on December 1, 1903, in the Post Office, a meeting was held to organize a Fire Company, "For the purpose of better preserving the property of said Village from the danger of destruction by conflagration". On December 15, 1903, the Nashwauk Fire Department elected E.F. Logan as it'

s first chief. On March 24, 1923, the Nashwauk Fire Department Relief Association was granted into the State Fire Department Association of the State of Minnesota. The Nashwauk Fire Department is a volunteer paid-on-call department which provides fire, search & rescue, and dive services. The NFD currently has 19 active members with two hall locations (Nashwauk and Nashwauk Township). The Nashwauk Fire Hall is located at the Nashwauk Safety Complex at 2 Hawkins Avenue Nashwauk, MN.
