That's a wrap on our 2026 Summer Reading Program! We had so much fun at all of our programs and hope you all did too!
Mother Nature threw us a huge curveball with our flooded community room and we had to cancel the last few weeks of our summer programs. Thank you, everyone, for your continued support and understanding while we work on the cleanup and restoration!
We drew the summer reading prize raffles and contacted all of the winners. Congrats to all and to everyone who participated in our summer reading program!

Residents of all ages are invited to learn essential tips on how to prepare for emergencies of any kind. The team will provide educational materials and helpful resources, including reminders to memorize emergency contact cell phone numbers and create an emergency communication plan within your household. Learn how a few simple steps today can make a big difference when it matters most.
The Rensselaer County Department of Health’s Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) program offers ongoing training in emergency response. Training includes a "go-bag" workshop. All ages welcome.

Summer Reading is coming to a close, but, our beautiful paint-by-number will still be waiting for our teens! It looks amazing and we have loved having everyone working on it. Stop in to help us finish it so we can get it up on the wall!

Hey READERS! Did you see this article? I know we have many THRILLER lovers at our library. Do you have a favorite thriller that made their list? See a favorite that's missing? And of course, you can use your library barcode to access the NYT every day. The link is in the comments! Don't forget to stop in to pick up a thriller or two to read this summer. We are open! (Our community room is still not functional but our books certainly are!)

**We are open!** We are happy to be back open with our regular library hours! Our downstairs community room is closed while undergoing restoration and all programs (storytime, playtime, summer reading programs, etc) are canceled until further notice.

We are still offering parking lot pickup and can bring your library items out to you. Call us @518-766-2715.

Update: while we are still working on flooding cleanup, we will continue to be closed to the public. However, we are offering parking lot pickup today and tomorrow from 12pm-3pm. If you have books that are waiting for you, call us from our parking lot and we'll bring your books out to you! 518-766-2715

On Wednesday 7/29, our library experienced significant flooding in the downstairs part of our building, which includes our community room, kitchen space, and storage area. Library staff, trustees, and volunteers worked throughout the day and into the evening on Wednesday and realized the impact of the flooding needed professional assistance. Quick Response was at our library by 9:30 yesterday morning and began the cleanup process. We are still working on assessing the damage and will need to remain closed to the public until further notice. We will keep our community updated on our progress and reopening timeline on our website and page.
We know this storm affected many people and we send our good wishes for a fast recovery. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while we get our library back on its feet!
