⚠️All Entrance Gates Remain Closed⚠️

Due to the ongoing weather related closure, all Northwestern State University entrances will remain closed.
Please use the Caspari Street entrance if you must enter or exit campus.

Please continue to exercise caution while driving on campus. NSUPD is monitoring roadway conditions, and has observed several patches of ice lingering on campus roadways.

With temperatures not likely to rise above freezing today, and dipping into the teens this evening, please continue to use caution while driving. Despite freezing rain no longer falling, dangerous road conditions will remain. Officers have observed patches of black ice on campus, as well as multiple tree limbs down in roadways. Ice will like re-acumulate overnight, as thawed slush refreezes into more dangerous ice on the roadway. Please exercise good judgment in determining if you truly need to be out on the road.

**UPDATE**
0800 - Power appears to be restored to almost all of campus except for University place 2. University Police and other university personnel are continuing to monitor conditions.

The power is out to the majority of campus. Roadways are incredibly treacherous with freezing rain still falling at this time. Unless you absolutely have to drive for an emergency, please avoid driving on campus roadways. University Police will still be available to respond to calls and emergencies as needed.

The University Police wants to remind students, faculty and staff that parking lots are restricted based on the type of vehicle registration you have.
University Police Will be issuing citations for violations of parking zones as necessary.

AT&T is experiencing a wide scale outage that is affecting several systems at NSU.
Teams Voice Phone System: Calls going into or out of the university are currently down. This includes 911 emergency calls as well as calls to University Police. Please use your Campus Shield app to report any emergencies for the time being until this situation can be resolved.
