• Becoming KI’s President has been such a blessing in disguise! Just two days before elections, I couldn’t imagine myself have the skills and capacity to be the one to lead and represent 90+ girls on our campus and community as well as nationally. But, just as we tell PNMs who come through formal recruitment, “in Phi Mu, it’s not what you become, it is who you are now and have always been.” I truly am blessed that Phi Mu came into my life three years ago and brought along a group of women who instilled in me a sense of confidence in leadership, a toolbox of team working and communication skills, and an overall pride in Phi Mu; they saw potential in me and made me flourish! Now, I realize just how much this chapter and being president means to me! Through this role, I get to support the lifelong development of my sisters through peer mentorship, learn what it means to work for others, guide young women through typical and unique collegiate challenges, and represent the BEST group of girls! I’ve seen 78 Phis come into this chapter as my time as Provisional Member Director, and now I get to support those girls, the ones who came with me (PC23 is getting old), and those who will come throughout their active life. Watching my sisters achieve their goals, work through their biggest trials, and just get through the day together is so special, and I’m so honored KI chose me to serve. To the person reading this not knowing if leadership is for them: DO IT! The nights will be long and the tasks will be never ending, but at the end of the day, the memories you create and the friendships that bloom make it all worth it. This legacy that has been created through chapter presidents before me is something I am honored to be a part of, and know that it will continue for years to come. Forever in our bond. 💌
