March 12th, the 76th Demon Battalion proudly hosted the Demon Challenge Competition 💪🔥
High schools from across the region came together to compete in a series of physically and mentally demanding events, including the Sprint-Drag-Carry, plank, hand-release push-ups, 2-mile ruck, 1-mile run, land navigation, and more.
This event showcased not only strength and endurance, but also teamwork, discipline, and resilience — the core values of future leaders.
We are proud of every competitor who stepped up to the challenge, and we couldn’t have done it without the hard work and dedication of our cadets. The 76th Demon Battalion showed what right looks like!
Well done to all involved — Demon Battalion leads the way! 🪖🇺🇸

The Demon Battalion Ranger Challenge Team gave everything they had at this year’s competition, finishing 18th out of 43 schools in the 6th Brigade. Through grit, discipline, and relentless teamwork, they proved they can compete with the best in the region. Most importantly, they earned the title of #1 school in Louisiana—a true testament to their hard work and the strength of NSULA ROTC. 💪🔥

Good morning everyone and thank you for joining us at the 75th Demon Battalion Military Ball on 12 April. What a wonderful evening it was – I am so happy to report we were sold out (a first for us!). Congratulations again to Hall of Fame inductee, LTC(R) Reginald Horton, and Touchstone Award recipient, CDT Caiden Matthews.

I apologize for the lateness of this note. We had much difficulty in loading photos to Facebook. But they’re there now, so please check them out. The photos are by Mrs Leah Jackson. Also, please see the Natchitoches Parish Journal article and photos at the link above. Kevin Shannahan always does an amazing job as well and donates his photos to ROTC. Feel free to copy them as you wish. You should see a link for “Kevin’s Gallery” just under the photo of COL Gates and CDT Matthews.

The 76th Demon Battalion Military Ball is scheduled for 11 April 2026. We hope you can join us!
