..FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Louisiana, including the following parishes,
Caldwell, Grant, La Salle, Natchitoches, Sabine and Winn and east
Texas, including the following counties, Angelina, Nacogdoches,
Sabine and San Augustine.

* WHEN...Through Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- As the remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur move north and east
towards Central Louisiana overnight into early Thursday, rainfall
associated with this decaying system could produce periods of
excessive, heavy rainfall across portions of extreme Deep East
Texas into West Central and East Central Louisiana. While the
heaviest rainfall is forecast to remain south and east of the
Flood Watch area through Thursday Evening, any westward shift to
the track of the decaying storm could result in additional
rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches. Given how wet soils currently
are across these areas, any heavy rainfall could result in
additional flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas.

North Louisiana Crime Lab Message Concerning Dangerous Narcotic “Cychlorphine” Circulating in North La. Parishes Including Natchitoches Parish

The North Louisiana Crime Lab provides forensic science services to assist law enforcement agencies in the analysis of evidence. The lab works in coordination with the Louisiana State Police Crime Laboratory system and supports criminal investigations through scientific testing and expert analysis.

The North Louisiana Crime Lab continues to monitor the emergence of cychlorphine, a powerful synthetic opioid that has now been detected in multiple North Louisiana parishes.

Since our first detection in March 2026 in a case from Caddo Parish, additional cychlorphine-positive submissions have been identified from DeSoto, Ouachita, and Natchitoches Parishes.

Laboratory analysis has confirmed cychlorphine in several counterfeit tablet types, including:

💊 Blue "M30" tablets
💊 Green "M15" tablets
💊 Pink "K56" tablets
💊 Yellow "T259" tablets
💊 White "M367" tablets

These tablets are made to resemble legitimate prescription medications, but appearances can be dangerously misleading.

⚠️ The reality is simple: there is no way to know what is contained in an illicit pill purchased on the street. Counterfeit tablets may contain potent synthetic opioids, including cychlorphine, that can significantly increase the risk of overdose and death.

🔹 ONE PILL CAN KILL.

The NLCL will continue monitoring drug trends throughout our region and sharing information that helps protect our communities.

LOUISIANA LAW: HEADLIGHTS ON WHEN WIPERS ON

If your windshield wipers are in continuous use due to rain, mist, or other precipitation, Louisiana law requires you to turn on your headlights. Louisiana Revised Statute 32:301 requires motorists to display lighted lamps when weather conditions reduce visibility or when precipitation necessitates the continuous use of windshield wipers.

Headlights are not just for helping you see—they help other drivers see you.

Remember: Turn on headlights whenever wipers are continuously operating. Use low-beam headlights during rain and fog. Don't rely solely on daytime running lights, as they may not activate taillights. Increase following distance and reduce speed during wet weather. Stay alert for standing water and reduced visibility.

* WHERE...Portions of Louisiana, including the following parishes,
Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Caldwell, Claiborne, De Soto, Grant,

Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A weak surface front will remain stationary across East Texas and
North Louisiana through Tuesday. Periods of showers and

in excess of 5 inches possible, much of which may fall in a short

flooding will exist across portions of East Texas and North
Louisiana through Tuesday afternoon.
