It is with deep sadness that the members of the National Park Fire Department extend our heartfelt condolences to the members of Malaga Fire Company and the family, friends, and loved ones of Firefighter Robert “Bobby” Reider.

Bobby’s dedication, service, and commitment to his community will not be forgotten. The loss of a firefighter is felt throughout the entire fire service, and today we stand with our brothers and sisters at Malaga Fire Company as they mourn one of their own.

Please keep Bobby’s family, the members of Malaga Fire Company, and all who knew and loved him in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Companies operated in the early morning hours at a 3 story duplex dwelling. Fire on the 3rd floor. Westville Engine 733 operated 2 hand-lines supplied by Gloucester City Squad 51. The Ladder Companies ventilated and National Park Engine 812 dropped a second water source to Summit Ave for Ladder 736.

Deptford Tower 926 was special call for salvage operations on the lower floors.

Wenonah and Woodbury Heights Fire Departments responded, assigned to the RIT Group and established the RIT Group Supervisor,Accountability and Safety. The companies took positions for fire ground observation for firefighter safety.

No injuries reported.ni
