Residents of National Park:

The Borough of National Park is expected to receive 12”-18” of
snow from Sunday morning into Monday. The safety and security of our residents is our most important task. Our Public Works Department, Water Department, Fire Department and Police Department are ready to provide the best service possible. Our Office of Emergency Management will be staffed.

Ways Residents can prepare for the storm:

1) If you can, move your vehicles into the driveway to maximize our plowing efforts.

2) If you can, ensure any fire hydrants in your area remain clear with a 3 ‘ by 3 ‘ clearance.

3) Warming centers will be open if you lose heat. Call 2-1-1 for information.

4) Make sure all electronic devices are fully charged in event of power outages. Ensure you have flashlights and candles as well.

5) All pets must be brought in doors. It’s the law in this situation.

6) All bonafide emergencies call 9-1-1.
All non emergencies call 856-589-0911

7) You can report power outage by texting OUT to 4PSEG (47734). Report it online, through their app, or call them 1-800-436-PSEG (7734)

😎 Check on your neighbors, especially the elderly and homebound.

Be Safe. Together, we will get through this.

Mayor of the Borough of National Park

Attention National Park Residents. A significant winter storm has been tracked all week and we can expect to see heavy snow fall. Beginning tonight , Friday , over night temperatures will be around 9 degrees , with wind chills being -5 degrees. If you must be out , ensure you are dressed in layers to combat the frigid temperatures. Ensure your vehicles are filled with fuel or fully charged.
Saturday temperatures during the day will be a high of 20 degrees , with chill making it feel - 5. Same advice. Snow is expected to start late Saturday into Sunday around 1 am. Snow will continue Sunday and be at its heaviest. Totals expected are 10-14 inches. Complicating this is the possibility of freezing rain and sleet Sunday night into Monday , then more snow after 4 am Monday morning. No further precipitation expected after 7 am Monday. Further complicating matters is that temperatures will not rise above 20 degrees all week.
We at National Park OEM ask you take all necessary precautions. Ensure you have food , water , cell phones charged , flashlights , medicines , etc. Be prepared for power outages , wires down , trees down , etc. The emergency # for PSEG for outages / wires down is 1-800-436-7734. Do not call 911 for power outages.
911 is to be called for immediate hazards , medical , fire and police emergencies.
Tips : keep external pipes for utilities clear of snow , especially gas hookups. If you smell an odor of natural gas , evacuate your residence and call 9-1-1. This is a hazard. If you have to use a portable generator , do not bring it inside. The Carbon Monoxide it emits can be deadly.
We also ask if you have a fire hydrant in front of your house , be a good neighbor and Parker and keep it clean and unobstructed. Our Fire Department volunteers will be staffing our fire station during this storm to provide quicker response. These men and women will be away from their families to protect yours. Help them out. Our Public Works is prepared with salt and plows and will be out at the appropriate time to be most effective. The WDPD will have additional staffing on to meet all of our Police needs. The National Park Emergency Center will be activated and staffed by OEM personnel to assist all of our First Responders and borough workers.
While this isn’t the storm of the century , it does bring hazardous conditions. Preparedness and Planning are the two best things we can all do.
We will update the weather as the storm gets closer.
Remember to bring in your pets , check on your neighbors and the elderly , and please be safe. Thank you all EM 8
