Just because it's summer doesn't mean we stop appreciating and shouting out our incredible staff! Today, we are highlighting Mrs. Kotsaftis, who can normally be found at City Hill Middle School as their Reading Specialist during the school year, and is also currently serving as the incredible Principal of our Extended School Year Program! Check out this amazing nomination submitted for Mrs. Kotsaftis:

"Mrs. Kotsaftis, better known as Ms. K, was new to City Hill Middle School after coming over from Salem Elementary School this past school year and you’d think she has been there for years. The bonds she’s made with co-workers and students is amazing in such a short period of time. She opens her room to everyone like they are family. She goes above and beyond in everything she does and anyone who has ever had the chance to learn anything from her is blessed."

Liz will be completing her residency in Naugatuck, CT as a member of our Special Education Cohort. Every lesson, challenge, and classroom connection will help shape her into the educator she aspires to be, building the skills and experience needed to make a lasting impact on her students.

After years of dedication, compassion, and service to the students, staff, and families of Naugatuck Public Schools, it is time to celebrate an incredible career and an even more incredible person.

This video is filled with messages from students, colleagues, friends, and loved ones whose lives have been touched by Tracy Theroux throughout the years. While retirement marks the end of one chapter, the impact Tracy has made will continue to be felt for generations to come.

Dear Naugatuck Public Schools Families and Staff,

Due to the forecasted extreme heat and the lack of air conditioning in many of our school buildings, Naugatuck Public Schools will operate on an emergency early dismissal schedule tomorrow, Friday, June 12, 2026.

The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority. After carefully reviewing the weather forecast and anticipated conditions within our school buildings, we have determined that an early dismissal is necessary to reduce prolonged exposure to excessive heat.

Each school will follow its established early dismissal schedule, and transportation will be provided accordingly. Families should anticipate students arriving home earlier than usual and make any necessary arrangements. Please note that all afternoon and evening activities are canceled, with the exception of NHS Grad Night.

We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we respond to these challenging weather conditions. Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
