The incoming storm is shaping up to be one of the most significant snow storms we have seen in a long time. Please prepare now and plan to stay indoors for the duration of the storm.

NEMS will be staffed with several crews and will respond as needed. Please remember to utilize the 911 system for urgent, life or death emergencies.

Naugatuck police, fire ,EMS and public works will be staffed and ready for the storm Sunday.

Snow forecasts are in the 15 inch or more range. This looks like it may be the highest storm snowfall here since 2013. We may also get some sleet tomorrow which will reduce the snowfall total. This storm is not expected to cause widespread power failures like the 2013 storm.

The City of Waterbury is experiencing a severe water issue due to a broken water main. This is affecting several areas of the city as well as parts of Watertown and Wolcott.

We are not experiencing any water issues in Naugatuck as our system is not connected to the Waterbury water supply.

Naugatuck Police and Fire Departments have been in contact with Waterbury officials have offered any assistance they need. The Naugatuck Community Emergency Response Team, (CERT) as well as others in the area, have been requested to assist in drinking water distribution.
