Our Theater program had a very successful and productive theatrefest last week. Our students, Jazmynn Nunn and Olivia Barrera, received 16 college callbacks for theatre programs. These two girls, along with Angelique Lemus, entered the 24 hr filmfest contest for the first time, where they were given a genre, prop, and 3 lines to integrate and had to film and edit the film entirely on their phone in 24 hours.

The students took home 3rd place, Best Sound, and Best Actress. You can view their film here: https://youtu.be/RR-9-RYnslg?si=PpaUBCAlAM99LjoS

Our theatre teachers were also presented the award of distinction for Navasota High School as an Exemplary school for theatre. Mrs. FitzSimon taught two technical theatre workshops, and on Friday was voted in as the High School Member at Large for the Texas Educational Theatre Association and represent theatre teachers all over Texas. Congratulations to our theatre program and their teachers!
