Community engagement is one of our highest priorities and we believe supporting residents, businesses, organizations, and community partners goes far beyond traditional law enforcement duties. That's why we were happy to help when the Memorial Library of Nazareth and Vicinity reached out for assistance with de-escalation training after encountering several challenging situations.

On May 29, Officer Thompson conducted a de-escalation training session for library staff, providing practical techniques and strategies to help safely and effectively manage difficult interactions. This training was offered as part of our ongoing commitment to work alongside the organizations that serve our community every day.

The library is a valued community resource that provides education, enrichment, and opportunities for residents of all ages. We are grateful for the important work their staff does and were proud to partner with them for this training opportunity.

The NBPD remains committed to being an active and engaged community partner. Whether through education, outreach, problem-solving, or public safety initiatives, we will continue to look for ways to support those who make Nazareth a great place to live, work, and learn. Thank you to the library staff for their participation and dedication to serving our community!

On Wednesday, we held our annual End of Year Celebration for Crossing Guards to recognize and honor the dedicated individuals who served throughout the 2025–2026 school year.

Mayor Colondo, Chief Pompei, PAA Deb Dreisbach, and borough representatives were proud to join Superintendent Isabelle Resende and Stuart Whiteleather from the Nazareth Area School District in showing appreciation for the important role our guards play every day in helping keep our students safe.

During the celebration, service awards were presented recognizing crossing guards who reached both 1-year and 10-year service milestones. Their commitment, reliability, and dedication to the children and families of our community are truly valued and appreciated.

Join us in thanking all of our guards for their hard work and service throughout the school year. Your efforts make a difference every day, rain or shine! 👏

This week, Mayor Colondo, Chief Pompei and Sgt. Ferri were honored to attend the annual Memorial Day Program at Shafer Elementary School. 🇺🇸

Our sincere thanks to Principal Mudlock for the invitation and to the Shafer students and staff for organizing such a meaningful and heartfelt ceremony. The program served as a powerful tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Events like these are an important reminder of the strong connection between our schools, our police department, and the community we proudly serve. Community policing is built on relationships, trust, and shared experiences, and opportunities to participate in programs like this continue to strengthen those bonds for future generations.

Thank you again to everyone involved for allowing us to be part of this special day!
