The Nazareth Borough Police Department extends our warmest congratulations and best wishes to Chief West on his well-deserved retirement after an incredible career. 🎉

Today, the doors at MTPD close behind our Chief, Gary West, for the last time.

After 33 years of wearing the badge and 19 years leading this department, it’s hard to imagine this place without him. We’ll miss his presence, his voice, his stories, his guidance—and simply knowing he was always there.

Thank you, Chief, for giving so much of yourself to this department and to all of us. You may be retiring from the badge, but you’ll always be part of the MTPD family.

We’re going to miss you more than you know.
💙🚔
Enjoy Retirement, it is well deserved!!

Happy first day of school to all the students heading back today! 📚✏️

As our kids hit the books, please remember to stay extra cautious and alert behind the wheel. Watch out for school zones, buses, and children walking or biking. Let’s work together to keep everyone safe!

Check out our post below for all the details and safety reminders.

The first day of school is just around the corner! As students, families, buses, and school traffic return to our roads on August 31, we’re asking everyone to slow down, stay alert, and give yourself a little extra time to get where you’re going.

đźš— Motorists:
• Reduce your speed in school zones and allow extra travel time.
• Watch carefully for children walking or riding bicycles.
• Obey crossing guards and follow their directions.
• Stop for school buses displaying flashing red lights and an extended stop arm.
• Stay alert and avoid distractions.

👧 Parents:
Please remind your children to use designated crosswalks, put away cellphones and headphones when crossing streets, and wait for the bus in a safe location away from traffic.

đź‘® Our officers will be out, too. Throughout the Borough, officers will be paying particular attention to school zones, bus stops, pedestrian crossings, speeding, and school-bus violations.

Our goal isn't just enforcement, it's helping everyone start the school year safely. A few extra seconds of patience and attention can make a big difference. Slow down. Stay alert. Look out for one another. Let's make it a safe first day back for all of our students! đź’™

Every time our officers walk out this door, they carry more than a badge. They carry the trust of our community. That's why Chief Randall Pompei recently placed this simple but meaningful reminder on the door our officers use when leaving the station to begin their patrol.

Chief Pompei intentionally chose this location so the message would be one of the last things our officers see before heading out into the community. It’s a reminder of the responsibility that comes with representing the NBPD and the Borough of Nazareth, and that every interaction is an opportunity to strengthen the trust we share with our community.

Our officers demonstrate these qualities every day through their dedication, professionalism, and service. This message simply reinforces the standard we strive to uphold with every call, every conversation, and every interaction.

Excellence. Integrity. Trust. Three simple reminders as our officers walk out the door and into the community they are proud to serve. 💙🇺🇸
