Next Tuesday is the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, and we want you to join the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of the Greater Lehigh Valley and us in our food drive!

From September 15 to October 15, we are encouraging you to donate culturally familiar staples found in many Hispanic households. This will ensure families experiencing food insecurity have access to nutritious foods they know and love. 🧡

Pedro delivers food to partner pantries and agencies throughout our six-county distribution region. He's just one of the many staff members who help distribute nearly 6 million pounds of food per year.

🥛 We are so grateful to Chobani for donating 32,000 pounds of dairy products to Second Harvest Food Bank!

This generous donation included 1,800 cases of Super Milk, a shelf-stable milk product, and 2,600 cases of Chobani yogurt. These nutritious items will be distributed through our network of partner food pantries, helping bring healthy dairy products to families across the Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania.

This donation comes as Chobani prepares to open a new dairy product manufacturing operation in the Lehigh Valley. Thank you to Governor Josh Shapiro's office for including us in the day's events.

Community Action Lehigh Valley CEO Dawn Godshall addressed the crowd, along with several Lehigh Valley and state leaders, at Tuesday's press conference.

September is Hunger Action Month, an annual reminder that it takes an entire community working together to fight hunger and ensure all our neighbors have access to nutritious food.

Over the summer, food pantries across our six-county service region saw a significant increase in demand, with more families turning to them, many for the first time, for support. As food pantry visits continue to rise and SNAP cuts impact more families, Second Harvest Food Bank's shelves are being stretched to meet growing needs.

This month, you can make a difference by advocating, volunteering, or making a gift to support hunger relief efforts. Every action helps our neighbors feed their families with dignity and hope.
