15 “Lucky” residents and non-residents will be receiving letters from Officer Meyer. Included in these letters are citations for violating Wisconsin State Statute 346.04(2) Failure to Obey Traffic Sign/Signal in a Work Area.

This statue reads:
346.04(2) “No operator of a vehicle shall disobey the instructions of any official traffic sign or signal unless otherwise directed by a traffic officer.”

Posted at entrances of the construction zone are signs advising the roadway is closed to through traffic. As stated in a previous post, unless one is part of the construction crew, a pre-approved delivery company, or a resident living within this area, one is to avoid (stay out!).

Daily, the Necedah Police Department is receiving complaints regarding vehicles operating through the construction zone. The NPD has made efforts to identify these vehicles, and has issued citations to the registered owners.

To those “unlucky” residents, not receiving a citation, THANK YOU for avoiding this area. Please continue to do so, and remind those you may know to avoid this area as well.

Thank you! Have a wonderful and safe weekend! And please leave the construction area alone. We all just want this construction to end as soon as possible!

Good Evening,

Just a friendly reminder, tomorrow, July 28, 2025, the Hwy 21 construction is scheduled to move into the second phase. It is unknown when exactly the construction crews will have the next phase closed, but please plan ahead for any travels along the next phase of Hwy 21.

Included with this post are 4 photos, marked as follows.

Photo #1- COMPLETE road closure between the Hwy 80/ Main St. intersection to Hwy G. No traffic will be allowed through this area with exception to construction traffic and pre-approved traffic to/from residents within this area. Please avoid this area to allow construction crews to work efficiently, so this roadway can be reopened as soon as it possibly can.

Detours??

Photo 2- shows a marked detour to the south. This is south on Hwy G from Hwy 21 to Hwy 80.

Photos 3- shows a marked detour to the north. This is north on Hwy G to Hwy F, and west on Hwy F to Hwy 80.

To our locals, who know “short cut” roads along the detour routes, please be mindful of those residing along the route. Also, please remember, some of the “short cut” routes from this marked route are narrow, rough roads, and may create more inconvenience to those who choose to travel along the short cuts.

Old Mill Park??

Photo 4- Hwy 21 access to the parking lot will be completely closed. The park will continue to be open, but parking will be available at the Assembly of God Church, just to north of the park. Once parked, the walking path along the lake will need to be used to gain entry to the park.

Again, the WALKING path is for WALKING ONLY! This will be closed to vehicular traffic. DO NOT DRIVE on the walking path along the lake.

As always, please be courteous to those living or traveling along these routes. As the first stage left many with frustrations, we anticipate similar frustrations with phase 2. We appreciate your patients this far, and we ask that you continue to be patient with us, as we work with DOT officials through these “growing pains”.

What can you do???

1. Please share this post, so we can reach past our local following to those traveling through or visiting our area.

2. Hope/wish/pray for the cooperation of the weather and any other environmental factors, so the crews can work efficiently.

3. Please give the crews the space to work. They are here to just do their job. They cannot control the weather, the detour routes, or any lane closures. That part of the project was pre planned before this project began.

Thank you, stay well, and stay cool!

🚨 SCAM ALERT 🚨

We want to remind everyone to stay vigilant against scams circulating in our community.

If someone asks you to make a payment using gift cards (like Google Play, Apple, or Visa gift cards) — it’s a SCAM.
No legitimate business, government agency, or law enforcement office will ever request payment in the form of gift cards.

🔸 Common scam tactics include:

Claiming you owe money for taxes, fines, or fees

Saying a loved one is in trouble and needs bail money

Threatening arrest if payment isn’t made immediately

If you receive a call, message, or email like this:
✅ Hang up or delete the message
✅ Do not provide any personal or financial information
✅ Contact your local law enforcement agency to report it

Let’s work together to keep our community safe from fraud.

Reference State Highway 21 construction:

Many concerns have been brought to Village Admin and to the Police Department regarding the detour route. Please know, we hear you, and we are doing the best we can to help deter unnecessary traffic on many of our side roads.

Pictured below is a map of the detour route. This route is designated as John St to Birch St, or John St north to State Highway 80. This has been marked with detour signs and should be used by any traffic passing through Necedah. This is also a heavy truck route, and all trucks must use this route.

At no time should any truck traffic be operating on Harvey St, Plum St, Division St, or Oak Grove Dr.

Highway 21 is closed at the John St intersection, but the barricades are set to allow local traffic to access beyond this point.

TOTAL CLOSURE is from Division St to State Highway 80. This is to ALL traffic with exception to construction related vehicles.

How can you help???
-Avoid total road closure areas, allowing the workers to complete this area as quickly as they can.
-Follow the designated route
-DO NOT move the barricades, as this may confuse traffic passing through, and allow unnecessary traffic into areas they do not need to be.
- Share this post, so we can reach past our local followers, and spread awareness to those who are passing through, or visiting on vacation.

Most importantly, BE RESPECTFUL, to our businesses and our residence living around this area. This project is frustrating enough for all involved; please do not make it any worse by speeding down side streets or cutting through parking lots.

Please be patient with us as we continue to address all concerns, as we navigate through this construction project.

Area Scam Alert: Juneau County has received multiple complaints regarding suspicious calls from unknown individuals claiming to be loved ones or representatives, requesting large sums of money for bail or court costs. If you receive such a call, do not provide payment. Local law enforcement can assist in verifying the authenticity of the call. If you have fallen victim to this scam, please contact law enforcement with any relevant information.
