The Nederland Police Department is looking for the public’s assistance. On August 9, 2026 from approximately 12:09 a.m. to 2:00 a.m., three aggravated robberies occurred at three separate businesses by the same suspects. Two within the city of Nederland and one in Jefferson County outside of the city. These suspects were operating stolen vehicles, which have been recovered, and were armed with handguns. One suspect has been taken into custody and two remain at large. If you reside from 1st Street to 6th Street, please check your home surveillance footage. This includes residences north and south of Nederland Avenue, including Carriage Lane. These suspects were believed to be in this area. If you locate anything on your cameras, please contact the Nederland Police Department non emergency number at 409-722-4965 and request to speak with an officer.

🚨 Public Service Announcement 🚨

Over the next two days and the beginning of next week, the Nederland Police Department will be conducting Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) at C.O. Wilson Middle School and Helena Park Elementary School.

As a result, you may notice an increased law enforcement presence, including patrol vehicles, officers, and training activities on or around the school campus. This is only a training exercise, and there is no active threat to the public.

ALERRT training prepares law enforcement officers to respond quickly and effectively to active attack and critical incident situations. These realistic, scenario-based exercises help officers strengthen their decision-making, communication, teamwork, and tactical response skills, ensuring they are prepared to protect our schools and community should the unthinkable ever occur.

Training is one of the most important investments we can make in public safety. By continuously improving our skills, we are better equipped to respond when our community needs us most.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we conduct this important training.

Update

Roadway open and temporary repairs have been made. Drivers should still use caution when driving in the area until permanent repairs are made.

Road hazard

Twin City south bound in the 200 block is shut down. We are sending traffic down Avenue B. TXDOT has been notified and we are waiting for their arrival.

Nederland Police Department Press Release

Subject: Aggravated Assault / Family Violence

On Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 11:34 PM the Nederland Police Department received a call of a stabbing that had just occurred at a residence in the 700 block of 9th Street, Nederland, Texas. Upon arrival officers found a W/M lying on the ground with a stab wound to the chest being given first aid by a friend. Officers were advised that the suspect was located inside the residence. Officers immediately went inside the residence to locate the suspect and check for additional victims. The intoxicated suspect was located inside the residence, and no other victims were located.
The victim was treated by Acadian Ambulance Service and Nederland Fire Rescue on scene. He was transported via Air Rescue to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in critical condition. The victim was a friend that had been staying at the residence.
The suspect was identified as follows:
Lekotah Philley Age: 29 years of age
Hometown: Nederland,

Charges: Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon / Family Violence

The suspect was transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility.

Both girls were was last seen on 05/27/2026 at approximately 11pm. Jezabelle is 17 years old, has brown hair, brown eyes, is 5'0", and 120 lbs. Jezabelle was last seen wearing a cropped t-shirt and shorts, unknown color. Laeiya is 14 years old, has brown hair, brown eyes, is 4'0", and 100 lbs. Laeiya was last seen wearing a pink crop top shirt, and black shorts.
