"BIPARTISAN RESOLUTION ON TRAUMA-INFORMED CARE

National Call for CTIPP Action!

As Congress heads back to Washington, the resolution affirming the importance and effectiveness of trauma-informed care and calls for national recognition and awareness will pick up momentum. Please read the article below, which also links to the resolution being considered.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! Please support this effort by:

1. Call Members of Congress and ask them to co-sponsor the resolution. They should contact Matt Tucker ([email protected]) in Congressman Gallagher's office to express their support.

2. Any organization supporting this resolution can be added to the list of supporters which will be shared with Members of Congress so they have a sense of the national support. Organizations can sign-on by emailing [email protected] and should indicate if they are national, regional, state, or local.

Farewell

It is with mixed emotions that we make this announcement today. Our good friend and colleague Matt Bennett will be leaving Coldspring, effective July 3rd, 2017.

Matt has been an integral part of Coldspring Center as one of the original co-founders. Matt has provided a variety of trainings, consultations, and keynote addresses to many of our clients all over the country. We will miss Matt’s energy, passion and enthusiasm. We would like to thank Matt for all the great work he has provided throughout the years, and for his commitment to all the clients we serve.

As Matt transitions to the next chapter of his life, we want to wish him lots of luck in his new ventures. We have no doubt that Matt will continue to be successful in providing trainings and other trauma informed services to our communities. As difficult as it is to see Matt leave Coldspring Center, there is no doubt that we will continue to collaborate in the future.

Coldspring Center will continue to provide trauma informed care, motivational interviewing, leadership, case management, self-care, and custom trainings, as well as our other quality improvement services to our clients. We are very excited to announce that Coldspring Center has hired Robert George to be a Trainer and Project Manager. We are lucky to have him join our team!

Robert has 18 years of experience in the HIV services field, providing direct care and leadership in the areas of case management, behavioral health, housing services, prevention services, and oral health services. He specializes in the development and provision of client-centered, comprehensive, quality service delivery and leadership. Robert has experience with compliance management and quality assessment and improvement projects, and has worked in both urban and rural service settings. His focus is to assist helpers to more skillfully support their clients and patients utilizing the theories of harm reduction, motivational interviewing, and trauma informed care. Robert also utilizes these theories and concepts with program supervisors and managers, with the goal of supporting them to develop into healthy teachers and mentors.

As you can see, Robert brings a depth of experience to Coldspring Center, and is uniquely qualified to continue the growth of Coldspring’s vision and mission. Welcome, Robert!
