Public Health Advisory - Harmful Algal Bloom

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) is testing the water at Rosemary Lake for a possible cyanobacteria harmful algal bloom (CyanoHAB).

Until further notice, residents should avoid contact with the water, keep pets away, and refrain from fishing at the lake. If contact with the water occurs, rinse off immediately. The Town will share updates as more information becomes available.

Separately, MDPH has lifted the cyanobacteria public health advisory issued July 21 for the Charles River between Kendrick Street/Nahanton Street (Needham/Newton) and Bridge Street/Spring Street (Dedham/West Roxbury). The advisory included Millennium Park, Cutler Park Reservation, and other nearby stretches of the Charles River.

As the pool season comes to an end, our staffing levels may vary from day to day. When staffing is limited, some attractions—including the water slides—may be temporarily unavailable.

Registration closes TONIGHT, Thursday, 8/13 for Right Brain Curriculum’s Hands on Science Camp!

In this interactive science class, students explore basic science concepts through hands-on building and experimentation. Kids create and test simple projects such as paper airplanes, rubber band instruments, and small catapults while learning about motion, force, sound, and design. Activities are structured as playful challenges that encourage curiosity, problem-solving and creativity. Through guided experiments and discussion, students observe what happens, make predictions, and improve their designs. The class emphasizes exploration and discovery in a supportive environment, helping young scientists build confidence while learning how science works in the real world!

Register today for USTA Youth Tennis Lessons!

The tennis program where kids play while they learn! Led by an approved USTA Net Generation Coach, the program will focus on developing the skills to serve, rally, and play - so it’s perfect for beginners and first-time players. Once the skills are there, participants will play fun matches with other players in the program. This program uses modified tennis balls, age-appropriate rackets and court sizes, and the latest fun and engaging activities that help players successfully learn and play the game quicker! All players in their first session receive and keep a new age-appropriate racket and tennis ball.

Dates: Saturdays, 9/12 - 10/24
