Last, but certainly not least, let us introduce Jenn, the Regional Public Health Nurse for the Charles River Public Health District!

Jenn supports the nurses (recap: Ginnie, Laura, Gael, and Emily) in each of the communities with communicable disease investigations, blood pressure clinics, CPR offerings, and vaccine clinics. She also fosters collaboration among the group by holding monthly meetings where all of the nurses share knowledge, plan community events, and support one another. It has been said she is the glue that is holding our nursing team together.

In addition, she creates monthly educational materials on relevant health topics, which are distributed to all of the communities. Jenn is very interested in expanding childhood vaccination and decreasing barriers to bystander CPR.

When she is not at work, she can be found walking on the Rhode Island beaches or immersed in fiction book.

Let's introduce you all to Emily!

Emily Dellaglio is a BSN, RN, serving as a Public Health Nurse for Medfield. She is mainly responsible for communicable disease management and public health education, including CPR and naloxone training. She also presents monthly on various health topics at the Medfield Library (be sure to check the library's website for her next presentation!). She holds weekly blood pressure and wellness screenings at the Council on Aging (COA) . She works closely with community organizations, specifically the Medfield Cares About Prevention (MCAP) and the Medfield Coalition for Su***de Prevention (MCSP).

When she is not being a Public Health Nurse, she enjoys spending time with her husband, their four kids, and their wild puppy. She loves watching her kids play sports and you can find her at a pool or softball/lacrosse field most days cheering them on. She loves being outdoors, hiking, taking long walks and swimming. She also has been known to make a pretty fabulous baked good here and there when she has time!

Today, we're highlighting Laura, also a Needham Public Health Nurse!

Laura has been a nurse for 10 years. She has worked in local and regional public health, general medicine, and cardiology. Laura holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree in Public Health Nurse Leadership from UMass Amherst, a BSN from Duke University, and a BA from Colby College. She is passionate about evidence-based program planning, implementation, and evaluation as well as improving vaccine access and equity.

If you've ever signed up for a Matter-of-Balance session or a CPR/HeartSaver class, she's the one you're likely interacting with! She is also co-chair of the Domestic Violence Action Committee (DVAC) and works meticulously to assist survivors in their journeys to healing.

She enjoys woods walks, running, and spending time with extended family and friends.

This National Nurses Week: The Power of Nurses, we'd like to introduce our Charles River Public Health District Public Health Nurses!

Today, we're highlighting Ginnie, a Public Health Nurse with Needham! She's been with Needham for 3.5 years and is primarily responsible for communicable disease surveillance (spoiler: you may hear from her if you are ever diagnosed with a serious illness), coordinating vaccine clinics for all ages (you may have seen her frolicking around during CATH flu vaccine clinics), inspecting and licensing camps for children, and supporting substance misuse, CPR/HeartSaver, and domestic violence educational efforts. She is also a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner.

When she's not being a Public Health Nurse, she loves to read, play with her dog, Bernie, and try out new restaurants with her fiancé.
