Our Care Model is focused Individualized Care for Ambulatory or Non-Ambulatory resident. Supreme Memory Care Is Licensed, Secured Alzheimer's Facility. Supreme Memory Care is Licensed by the State of Texas as a small Type B Assisted Living With Alzheimer's and related Disorders Certification. With a full time registered nurse that manages the over all care of each Individual resident. At Supreme Memory care Care each resident is cared for as a family member not a number.

Aspiration Precautions for Caregivers at Home

Aspiration occurs when food, liquids, or saliva enter the airway instead of the stomach. Following proper precautions can help keep your loved one safe during meals and daily care.

Key Safety Tips:
✔ Ensure your loved one is sitting upright (at a 90° angle) during meals
✔ Keep them upright for at least 30–45 minutes after eating
✔ Encourage slow eating with small bites and sips
✔ Avoid rushing or forcing food or fluids

Feeding Guidelines:
• Check for proper swallowing before offering the next bite
• Alternate between solids and liquids if appropriate
• Use thickened liquids if recommended by a healthcare provider
• Avoid foods that are hard to chew or swallow

Environment Matters:
• Minimize distractions during meals
• Provide a calm, quiet setting
• Supervise closely, especially if there is a history of swallowing difficulty

Oral Care:
• Maintain good oral hygiene to reduce risk of infection
• Clean the mouth after meals if needed

Watch for Warning Signs:
• Coughing or choking during meals
• Wet or gurgling voice
• Difficulty breathing
• Food remaining in the mouth
