We were proud to welcome members of the Nelson County Fair Board to our Fiscal Court meeting and recognize the hard work they put into making this year’s fair a success.

This year saw increased attendance, showing just how much the Nelson County Fair means to our community. From the rides and attractions to the food, entertainment, and activities for all ages, the fair provides a great opportunity for families and friends to come together and enjoy all that our community has to offer.

For generations, the Nelson County Fair has been an important part of our county’s summer tradition. It takes countless hours of planning, preparation, and volunteer effort to bring it all together, and we appreciate everyone who helps make it happen each year.

Thank you to the Nelson County Fair Board and all of the volunteers who continue to make the Nelson County Fair a special event for our community. We’re already looking forward to next year!

Earlier this week, during our Fiscal Court meeting, we had the honor of recognizing Nelson County Jailer Justin Hall for successfully completing the Jail Manager Certification Program.

This accomplishment reflects Justin’s commitment to professional development, strong leadership, and providing the highest level of service to Nelson County. Managing a correctional facility is an important responsibility, and continued education and training help ensure our county’s detention operations are led with knowledge, professionalism, and dedication.

Please join us in congratulating Jailer Justin Hall on this well-deserved accomplishment. Nelson County is proud of your dedication to serving our community! 👏

Earlier this week, during our Fiscal Court meeting, we had the honor of recognizing Laken Blandford for being crowned Miss Kentucky’s Teen 2026! 👑

Nelson County is incredibly proud to recognize one of our own for this remarkable achievement. Laken is a wonderful representative of our community, and we are excited to celebrate this well-deserved accomplishment with her.

Congratulations, Laken! We are proud of you and wish you all the best as you represent Kentucky!

A big thank you to Detective Teater for taking the time to present to Fiscal Court on Modern Forensic Scene Documentation & Reconstruction.

Detective Teater gave us a great look at how today’s technology, including advanced laser scanning, tablet-based documentation, and GNSS mapping, is helping law enforcement accurately document and reconstruct crime scenes.

These tools provide investigators with more detailed and accurate information while also helping preserve and present evidence in a clear and understandable way for prosecutors, attorneys, judges, and juries.

We appreciate Detective Teater taking the time to share his knowledge and demonstrate how these innovative tools are being used to improve the way crime scenes are documented and information is presented.
