The Nuckolls County Courthouse entertained the Nuckolls County 5th Graders today for County Law Day. Superior and Lawrence Nelson students joined the Court staff, Nuckolls County Sheriffs Office, and the Nebraska State Patrol in participating in the County Law Day. Students watched a drug dog presentation, drone flight and law enforcement equipment demonstration before returning to the court room for a mock trail where the students acted out the trial. County Court Clerk Diane Wehrman and District Court Clerk Lana Svoboda where the hosts of the day.

Today we celebrate the graduation of deputies Braxton Webber and Zerron Schroder, who both graduated today, April 23rd from the Nebraska Law Enforcement Academy in Grand Island, NE.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., March 24th, Deputies with the Nuckolls County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop in Lawrence, NE. During the stop approximately 266 grams of ma*****na was located in the vehicle.

Sunday March 15th at approximately 9 am deputies we're dispatched to a report of a man in someones outbuilding on Road C, 4.5 miles east of Superior. When the first deputy arrived he quickly located a silver car with Missouri plates that was reported stolen from Trenton Missouri. An eye wittness told the deputy he saw the man walking into a creek on the property. At around 9:45 a.m. deputies located a man matching the description, carrying an ax and outside a building on Highway 8, 4.5 east of Superior. The subject was quickly taken into custody and will be held on multiple charges and on an outstanding warrant out of Buffalo County Nebraska.

Local Law enforcement are asking for the public assistance identifying a 2006 to 2013 White, Chevrolet Impala that was involved in a hit and run of another parked vehicle at 12:31 a.m Saturday morning February 1st at 3rd and Kansas st in Superior. The Impala sustained damage to the front passenger side of the car and video shows the car continued north on Kansas Street in Superior. Reporters can remain anonymous. Law Enforcement are working to identify the vehicle from damaged parts left at the scene.
