The City of Nelson is now accepting applications for a part-time, dual department employee – Sanitation /Maintenance Technician. This position is responsible for sanitation pick-up, operating standard trucks, small equipment, w**d eaters, blowers etc. in addition to General Maintenance Worker / Sanitation Worker duties. While performing any procedure, all employees and contract personnel must observe applicable Safety, Health, and Environmental rules and guidelines. The use of appropriate personal protective equipment is required. The Storm Prediction Center has upgraded all northern Georgia to a LEVEL 2 of 5 Risk for severe thunderstorms this afternoon. Thunderstorm development is expected in the intense afternoon heat with lightning and damaging winds to 65 MPH possible. We will monitor closely for thunderstorm development throughout the afternoon.
