Hey yall! Unfortunatly, NHA will be closed September 2-September 7, 2026.
Both office staff members will be attending our Kansas NAHRO conference in Oklahoma City.
On Monday, September 7, 2026 all staff will be off for Labor Day.
We have voiced our concerns about small housing authorities attending a vital conference to learn HUDs multitude of upcoming changes... during the highest rent paying time of the month.
Our 5 business day grace period for rent has been extended all the way to Friday, September 11 with NO late fee though! Our apologies for the inconvenience this month. Have a great week and a safe weekend!

📢 NOW HIRING – FULL-TIME MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Neodesha Housing Authority is accepting applications for a Full-Time Maintenance Technician starting at $16.00 per hour.

🔧 WHAT YOU'LL DO

General maintenance and repairs
Apartment rehabilitation and turnovers
Preventive maintenance and property upkeep
Respond to resident work orders
Troubleshoot and identify maintenance problems
Prepare vacant, ground-level apartments for new residents
Complete assigned projects safely and efficiently

This position works largely independently. Applicants should be able to assess maintenance problems, determine the appropriate course of action, organize their work, complete repairs, and properly report issues.

📞 ON-CALL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Maintenance Technician shares after-hours emergency call responsibilities with our other maintenance employee on a one-week-on/one-week-off rotation.

During assigned on-call weeks, the employee must be available to respond to emergency maintenance situations within 30 minutes, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

💰 STARTING PAY: $16.00/HOUR

🛠️ POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Regular physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, lifting and carrying materials
Ability to safely use hand and power tools
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Must comply with NHA vehicle and safety policies, including required seat belt use

How many lithium-ion batteries are in your home? Always use the power cord that comes with it. Never plug into an extension cord or surge protector. When its done charging, unplug it. According to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) there have been 198,000 lithium-ion battery related structure fires since 2011 with a rising increase of 10% each year. From 2019 to 2023 this has caused 89 deaths and 181 injuries.
