A recent incident was a reminder of the strength of our emergency response community and the importance of teamwork when facing difficult situations.

The Neola Volunteer Fire Department would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Minden Fire & Rescue and Dave Lyon Towing & Repair for their quick response and assistance.

Their professionalism, teamwork, and commitment to helping others were evident from the moment they arrived on scene. We are fortunate to have neighboring departments and local businesses always willing to step up when needed.

Thank you for your support and for helping keep our communities safe.

Please be aware.

Please be aware.

Stronger storms are on track to develop early this afternoon and continue into the evening hours across the area. Damaging hail, wind, and a brief tornado are possible. These storms will also bring potential for flash flooding, so if you have outdoor plans, stay weather-aware!

Training Night at the NVFD!

Our members spent the evening sharpening critical firefighting skills through hands-on ops training.

Crews worked on:
-Engine operations
-Hose lay deployment
-Ground ladder deployment
-Fast water to the nozzle techniques

Regular training like this helps ensure our firefighters can respond quickly, safely, and effectively when our community needs us most. Every second counts on the fireground, and proficiency comes from repetition and preparation.

A big thank you to all of our volunteers who dedicate their time to training and serving the residents of Neola and the surrounding area.

Reminder that our tornado sirens are down. City Council has approved a new pole and updated siren system.
Be aware of the weather this weekend and don’t rely on sirens.

Last night, members of the NVFD spent time sharpening our extrication skills through scenario based, hands-on vehicle rescue training. Trainings like this help ensure we are prepared to respond quickly and safely when real emergencies happen in our community.

A huge thank you to Neil Cook and David Schierbrock for generously donating vehicles for our department to train with. Donations like these provide valuable real-world training opportunities for our firefighters and first responders.

We truly appreciate the continued support from our community!
