An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for Newton County, Missouri. Dangerous heat and humidity can quickly lead to heat-related illnesses. Limit time outdoors, stay in air-conditioned buildings when possible, drink plenty of water, and check on older adults, young children, and neighbors who may need assistance. Never leave children or pets in parked vehicles.

Restoration Life Center is open as a cooling center when the heat index is forecased to be 105F or higher.

There's an outbreak of cyclosporiasis across the US, including over 80 cases in Missouri as of last week.

Some of the foods that been linked to outbreaks in the past are basil, bagged salads, lettuce mixes, cilantro, raspberries, sweet peas and several other. There are some reports of a possible food item or items but nothing definitive has been identified at this time.

If you or a family member start experiencing symptoms, contact your medical provider.

Yes, the phone lines are still down. We hope to have this issue resolved today. We were waiting on parts and the repair person. The parts have arrived and the repair person is supposed to be here TODAY!! We will keep you all posted.

A Heat Advisory remains in effect for Newton County, Missouri until Friday, July 3.

👶 Check on Those Most at Risk: Older adults, Young children, People with chronic medical conditions, outdoor workers and pets

🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle. Temperatures inside a vehicle can become deadly within minutes—even with the windows cracked.

A Heat Advisory remains in effect for Newton County, Missouri until Friday, July 3, at 9:00 PM.. Hot temperatures combined with high humidity can quickly lead to heat-related illnesses if precautions are not taken.

☀️ Stay Safe in the Heat:

💧 Drink plenty of water, even if you don't feel thirsty.

🏠 Stay in air-conditioned buildings whenever possible.

👕 Wear lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing.

⏰ Limit strenuous outdoor activities, especially during the hottest part of the day (10 AM–6 PM).

🧴 Wear sunscreen and take frequent breaks in the shade if you must be outdoors.
