Since this is the first All Pro Dad breakfast of the school year, here’s some info for anyone who might now know what it is:

An All Pro Dad breakfast is an opportunity for dads (or other father figures) to have a free breakfast with their kids, tell the group why they’re proud of their kids, think about some important topic and discuss it with their kids, and then the kids play a game with prizes. We meet every first Friday of the month during the school year.

Join us for Prairie Day on Saturday, September 9th, to hear Ozark history and folklore brought to life by none other than Marideth Sisco! Marideth and counterpart Mary Alexander will share selections from their latest album, "An America Front Porch: Stories and Songs from the Missouri Ozarks." This program explores how porches themselves were introduced to pioneer America by enslaved West Africans.

Sisco is the distinctive voice behind the monthly podcast, "These Ozark Hills," on KSMU - Ozarks Public Radio. She is a well-known Missouri storyteller, veteran journalist, teacher, author, musician, and student of folklore, focusing on stories relevant to Ozark culture and history. In July of this year, Sisco returned from the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, where she shared her talents as an Ozark storyteller.

She is the well-known lead vocalist of Blackberry Winter Band, which provided much of the soundtrack for the 2010 award-winning feature film Winter's Bone.

Be sure not to miss out on hearing more from Marideth herself on September 9th at 1:00 p.m. Prairie Day is free of charge.

2nd NOEL CAREER & RESOURCE FAIR COMING SEPT 28th.

The McDonald County Chamber is thrilled to announce the 2nd "Career & Resource Fair" slated to September 28th from 4:00-7:00PM at the Noel Elementary School.

It has been humbling to watch and experience the community outreach by so many, this has truly been McDonald County at it's finest. This second event will find us also partnering with the Grove and Miami Chambers as well to expand the outreach. While the first event at the River Ranch Resort was pieced together quickly as it should have been, the second event is exceeding the participation of the first event in terms of businesses and available jobs. We expect between 60-70 employers representing between 2000-3000 jobs within a short commute of McDonald County to be present.

If you have been impacted by the Tyson closing, this event is for you. If you are simply looking to better your current employment situation, this event is for you. If you are an employer looking for reliable and steady talent, this event is for you. What the first event showed us was that there are more than enough quality jobs for those seeking employment. The wages are usually between $19-$25/hr, with the average over $20/hr.

Mark the calendar and plan on being at this FREE to all event.
Businesses can register for FREE here: https://www.mcdonaldcountychamber.org/noel-resource.../

I hate to see this from a non-main stream media venue. The headline is 100% inaccurate! Yes, they passed an ordinance. It’s NOT worth the paper it’s written on! It’s slam-dunk 100% totally unconstitutional. In fact, if they attempt to arrest a federal officer, the local officer might be arrested for obstruction of justice! The Supremacy Clause of the Constitution states, “This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, anything in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.” (Article VI, Clause 2) It’s been black letter law since the constitution was signed in 1787.
Good luck with that, Neosho!
