Our Million Word Club readers got to celebrate with donuts in the library alongside our superintendents on the last day of school! πŸ©πŸ“š

The best part of the morning was listening to our students ask thoughtful questions about leadership, education, and our schools:
⭐ β€œHow do you make decisions about our school?”
⭐ β€œWhat do superintendents do?”
⭐ β€œWhat education do you need for your job?”

Then Mr. Davis asked the students what makes Benton special:

πŸ’› β€œEveryone works together to get to the goal.”
πŸ–€ β€œTeachers have very good ways to teach.”
πŸ’› β€œPeople ask for help from others.”
πŸ–€ β€œIt’s a safe environment.”

When asked what they would change about school, the ideas were just as thoughtful:
⭐ β€œLet 5th and 6th graders come to Benton!”
⭐ β€œMaybe have a different order of specials.

We are incredibly proud of these students β€” not just for reading ONE MILLION words, but for the way they think, reflect, collaborate, and care about their school community. Benton is built by kids like these. πŸ“–βœ¨

We are celebrating a very special group of Benton Wildcats β€” our students who met their AR goal ALL FOUR QUARTERS this school year! πŸ“šπŸ†

As a reward for their consistency, commitment, and love of reading, these students earned a trip to the YMCA for a day of fun, swimming, and celebration together!

We are so proud of the grit and perseverance these students showed all year long. Reaching one AR goal takes effort… but reaching it every single quarter takes dedication, responsibility, and a true commitment to growth.

At Benton, we believe readers become leaders, and today was a celebration of students who kept showing up, turning pages, and growing stronger all year long. πŸ’›πŸ–€

Thank you to our staff and families for encouraging reading at home and at school. And congratulations to our AR All-Stars β€” you earned it! 🌟

βœοΈπŸ“š We are so proud of our Benton students who represented our school at the Crowder College Young Authors Conference!

Ten Benton Elementary students had the opportunity to attend and celebrate the power of storytelling, creativity, and student voice alongside other young authors from across the region, they even got to meet local writers!

Events like this remind us that our students are Built for More β€” more imagination, more courage, and more opportunities to share their ideas with the world. We are incredibly proud of these Wildcats for stepping forward as writers and creators! πŸ’™πŸ’›

A huge thank you to the teachers and families who encourage our students to read, write, and dream big every day.

We are so proud to share that our own Ms. Brown received the Mentor of the Year award from NSD! πŸŽ‰

The Mentor of the Year award is nominated by a new teacher who has experienced firsthand the guidance, encouragement, expertise, and support of an outstanding mentor during those important first years in education.

Did you know that teachers who have strong mentors are more confident, more effective, and more likely to stay in the profession long term? Mentors help shape not only great teachers, but great classrooms and school communities too.

Ms. Brown embodies what it means to lead with heart, patience, wisdom, and service. She invests in people, helps others grow, and makes Benton stronger every single day. We are incredibly grateful for the impact she has on both students and staff.

Congratulations, Ms. Brown β€” this recognition is so well deserved! πŸ’›πŸ–€

What a special way to close out the year at Benton. πŸ’›πŸ–€

Thursday, we celebrated so much more than awards β€” we celebrated growth, grit, service, teamwork, and the people who make Benton such a special place for kids.

Our students achieved incredible things this year:

⭐ Over 36 million words read across our building
⭐ Growth in reading and math at every grade level
⭐ Students showing up every day and making every minute count

We honored students for perfect attendance, reading achievements, and language growth, and we recognized staff members whose impact reaches far beyond the classroom walls.

Congratulations to:
πŸ† Our Teacher of the Year, Joni Swagerty
πŸ† Our Teacher of the Year nominees
πŸ† Our Wildcat of the Year nominees

πŸ† And our incredible retirees:
Mrs. Gunlock β€” 28 years of service
Mr. Cook β€” 22 years of service
Mrs. Lett β€” 19 years of service
Tracy Rogers - 3 years of service

Thank you for the love, dedication, patience, and heart you poured into generations of Benton students.

One of the most meaningful parts was watching our students and staff celebrate one another. Benton is not great because of one program, one initiative, or one person. Benton is great because of the people inside it β€” people who show up every day believing kids are Built for More.

Thank you to our families, staff, and community for partnering with us this year. We are proud of what we accomplished together, and we cannot wait to see what’s ahead for Benton. πŸ’›πŸΎ

A huge thank you to our incredible Benton PTO and all of our Benton families for coming out to celebrate Field Day with us on Wednesday! β˜€οΈπŸ’›

Thankfully, the rain moved through early, and our kids didn’t mind a little wet blacktop one bit β€” they were still smiling, laughing, and bouncing their hearts out all day long.

Days like this are a reminder that what makes Benton so special is our community. Thank you for showing up, supporting our students, and helping create joyful memories they’ll carry with them long after the school year ends.

Today we celebrated our final Wildcat Tracker Parade of the year β€” and what a way to finish strong. πŸΎπŸ’›

Throughout the year, students earned badges for mastering standards and showing growth in their learning. Each badge added to their Wildcat Tracker represented hard work, perseverance, and mastery of a grade level standard.

Today, our Wildcats were able to participate in the celebration, and that says so much about the commitment our students and staff have shown all year long.

What we love most about this tradition is how our bigs celebrate our littles. There is something incredibly special about seeing our older students down on their knees cheering and chanting for our kindergarten, first grade, and Pre-K Wildcats as they learn to read and grow. It’s one of the clearest pictures of who we are as a school community.

This is more than a parade β€” it’s a celebration of growth, encouragement, and the belief that every student can succeed.

πŸŽ‰πŸ“š AR Celebration Party! πŸ“šπŸŽ‰

Today we celebrated our 1st and 4th grade students who met their AR goals for 4th quarter with a special lunch-time AR Party! Students enjoyed music, dancing, and celebrating all of their hard work and reading success together. πŸ•ΊπŸ’ƒ

A huge thank you to Ms. Gartin for letting us transform the art room into the ultimate dance party space! πŸ’›πŸ–€

We are so proud of our readers and the commitment they’ve shown all year long. Every page read matters, and today was a fun way to celebrate their incredible effort!
