Family Promise of Carbon County PA Family Promise of Carbon County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit social care agency. Basic Elements of Family Promise of Carbon County

1.

Host sites open their hearts and buildings to provide overnight lodging, meals and hospitality to children and their families who are experiencing homelessness.

2. Volunteers are the heart of our work; without them, we cannot meet the needs of the guests we serve. Volunteers meet a variety of needs for our program: cooking and serving meals, playing with children or helping them with homework, a

nd staying overnight.

3. We work alongside local social service agencies to provide formal supports to our guests.

4. Guests utilize our day center located in Nesquehoning for access to showers, laundry facilities, and technology for employment and housing searches. We provide life skills classes including parenting, budgeting, communication and nutrition and trauma therapy as needed.

5. A network van transports guests to and from the day center to the host sites nightly at 5:30.

6. Family Promise of Carbon County raises money for our program through foundation grants, state and federal program funding, fundraising events and donations from our community.
