Ness County Appraiser's Office: Responsibilities include measuring, classifying, gathering data for real estate, assisting the general public on both personal property and real estate. Proficiencies desired: general computer experience, general knowledge of mathematics, attention to detail, and operation of basic office equipment. Must be able to work in the office and out in the field walking in all types of weather. Applicant must have a High School Diploma or the equivalent and a valid driver's license. Ness County offers excellent benefits-Medical and Dental Insurance, KPERS, paid vacation and sick leave. Applications may be obtained at the Ness County Appraiser's Office, 202 W. Secretary I – Part time- 20 hours a week- very flexible. Starting salary: $16.43 per hour. Work involves performing general secretarial duties for the 24th Judicial District Court Services Office in Ness City. Work requires the exercise of initiative, independent judgment and discretion in handling various duties. Required Education and Experience: Graduation from High School and two years’ experience in computer operation, typing and general secretarial work. Additional Desired Qualifications: Extensive knowledge and experience in working with computers, excellent typing skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, general knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment. Requirements: Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug test and have a valid Kansas driver’s license.
