Netcong was incorporated as a borough by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on October 23, 1894, from portions of both Mount Olive Township and Roxbury Township, based on the results of a referendum held the previous day

As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 3,232.

The Borough of Netcong would like to remind residents that the Our Lady of the Assumption Society of Netcong will celebrate the Feast of the Assumption on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

The day's celebration begins in the morning with fireworks salutes and the community gathering for Mass and the traditional procession through Netcong.

Morning Schedule:

7:00 AM – Morning salutes
7:30 AM – Additional salutes and assembly at the Chapel on Stoll Street at College Road
8:00 AM – Celebration Mass at St. Michael's Church on Church Street
Approximately 9:00 AM – Procession through the streets of Netcong following Mass

Residents are encouraged to come outside, enjoy the procession, listen to the festival music, and participate in this long-standing community tradition.

The procession will conclude at approximately 3:30–4:00 PM at Arbolino Park.

Evening Festival at Arbolino Park

Beginning at 6:00 PM, the celebration continues at Arbolino Park with an evening festival featuring:

Family activities, rides, games and novelties
Food and desserts
Beer and seltzer garden for adults
Live music by Shaky Moon
DJ Mike D
Fireworks

The evening will conclude with a fireworks display.

Residents are encouraged to come out, bring their families and friends, and enjoy this annual Netcong tradition.

Koclas Dr. from the intersection of Allen St. to the Intersection of Highland Ave. Will be closed on Saturday 8/15/26 from 6:00pm to 12:00am
Stoll St. from the intersection of Allen St. to the Intersection of Prospect. St. Will be closed on Saturday 8/15/26 from 6:00pm to 12:00am. No roadway parking permitted while these roads are closed.

The Borough of Netcong is aware of multiple power outages affecting areas throughout town.
JCP&L has been notified and is actively working to restore service. The current estimated time of restoration is 7:00 PM, though this is subject to change.
Residents are encouraged to:

Use caution if traveling, especially at intersections where traffic signals may be out.
Report any downed wires by staying away from them and contacting JCP&L immediately.
Keep refrigerators and freezers closed as much as possible to preserve food during the outage.

Please be advised that water service in the area or Union St will be disrupted on Thursday July 30, 2026 for repairs to the water system.

Water will be turned off at 9:00 am and will be restored as soon as repairs have been completed.

This weekend, the St. Cesario Society will continue its 100+ year tradition of celebrating the feast of St. Cesario. Please expect unusual traffic and noise as early as 7:00 am. Please be advised that Koclas Drive from Allen Street to Highland Avenue will be closed from 5:30 pm until midnight, and Stoll Street will also be closed from Allen Street to Prospect Street during this time. This allows access for all emergency vehicles on these roadways. All roads will be posted with “NO PARKING” signs.
