INFRASTRUCTURE UPDATE FOR CITY OF NETTLETON

The City of Nettleton has officially completed its citywide water system improvement project, marking a major milestone for our community and the reliability of our essential services.
We are now preparing for the next phase: a major wastewater system upgrade that will take place at multiple locations across the entire city. This project has not begun yet, but residents may soon notice early planning activities such as site markings, evaluations, and preparation work.

Once underway, this will be one of the LARGEST infrastructure improvements in Nettleton’s history — replacing aging sewer lines, upgrading lift stations, and strengthening the entire wastewater system to support future growth and long term reliability.
After the wastewater project is completed, the City will be able to begin the much-needed street repairs across town, addressing areas that have been waiting for improvements.
We will continue to share updates as the project moves forward.

With the end of the year approaching VERY fast 😬, we have A LOT in store for Nettleton! And right now, we’re working on plans for our Trunk or Treat on October 27th! 🎃👻

But we’re thinking… why not make it even MORE fun?! 🤔

🌶️ What do y’all think about adding a CHILI COOK-OFF to the Trunk or Treat?! 🌶️🏆

We’ve tossed this idea around in the past, but the biggest issue has always been getting enough people to enter. Before we officially add it to the event, we want to know if there is enough interest!

So tell us… WHO WOULD BE INTERESTED IN ENTERING A CHILI COOK-OFF?! 👇

🌟 Nettleton City‑Wide Clean‑Up – Ten Years Strong! 🌟

Join us on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 9:00–11:00 AM at Veterans Park as we come together to keep Nettleton beautiful!

This annual event—now recognized with a statewide award for community excellence through MS Main Mississippi Main Street Association—is proudly sponsored by the Nettleton Main Street Association, with generous support from Lee County Supervisor Barry Parker, Monroe County Board of Supervisor Hosea Bogan, MDOT, and the Nettleton School District.

A special thank‑you to the Mayor and the Nettleton Board of Aldermen for their continued leadership and for overseeing their respective wards to support this community effort.

After the clean‑up, Main Street will fire up the grill for hamburgers at 11:00—a well‑earned treat for all our volunteers!

Let’s continue the tradition that has made Nettleton a shining example of civic pride and teamwork. 💚
