Nevada City Police Department

Nevada City Police Department This is the Official page for the Nevada City Police Department.

The dedicated men and women of NCPD have a long history of bringing people together and working out solutions to keep our community a safe and friendly place to live, work and visit. Within the two-square miles of Nevada City, you will often see our officers patrolling our streets and parks on foot, in vehicles, or riding bicycles, making one-to-one contacts with residents and visitors to our comm

unity. The Department provides patrol, investigations, crime prevention, traffic enforcement, parking enforcement, drug education and other public safety services and is staffed by a Police Chief, Lieutenant, two (2) Sergeants, six (6) Police officers, two (2) Community Service officers, one (1) Civilian clerk, and five (5) Reserve officers. We operate out of City Hall mid-block on Broad Street and welcome walk-ins during business hours (Monday-Thursday) between 8am to 12pm and 1pm to 5pm to discuss local issues, trends, report an incident or just to stop by.

Come enjoy food and an open mic while exchanging ideas and learning practical ways you can make a difference.

Featuring:
· Food and clothing drives

· A limited open mic to share reflections and resources — if it speaks to the spirit of community, we want to hear it!

Those wishing to share are encouraged to arrive early and check in. Please plan your piece to fit a 3–5 minute window.

October is here and so is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 🎀 Nevada City Police Department is proud to once again take part in the Pink Patch Project! 💗

All month long, our officers will wear pink patches as a show of support and a visible reminder of our commitment to raising awareness and standing with those impacted by breast cancer.

This year, we’re uniting with our county partners—Nevada County Probation, Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, Nevada County Consolidated Fire District, Grass Valley Police Department, Grass Valley Fire Department, and Truckee Police Department—to amplify awareness across our communities.

✨ To support the cause, we’re offering exclusive Pink Patch merchandise:
• Individual agency patches
• A full set featuring all seven agency patches
• A special 2025 collaborative challenge coin

👉 Items can be purchased in person at the Nevada City Police Department (317 Broad St. Nevada City, CA 95959)

Nevada City Police Department is excited to announce a new tool to keep citizens informed and collect feedback on non-life threatening calls for service. Soon, we will start sending text message surveys after certain types of interactions with 911 and our department. Each survey will ask just a few questions about how satisfied you are and give you the opportunity to provide feedback.

Your feedback is important to us, and we want to know how we are doing. We also want to provide the appropriate feedback to officers to best serve our community.

This cannot be used to make formal complaints or report an emergency or criminal activity.

We look forward to hearing from you and using your feedback to improve the services we provide. Together, we can strengthen the relationship between the Nevada City Police Department and the community we are proud to serve.
