WHAT AMAZING NEWS!!! Cadon Croy and Jireh Garcia have been recognized as Outstanding Performers from Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest! They will be the first percussionist to receive this highest recognition and award from Community High School.

Excited to announce judge #2 who will be joining judge Dr. Leonardo and clinician Mr Kearns.

Judge Anniuncement! Quincey Jarmon is Judge #2. With a great amount of experience and success with students he joins our percussion adjudication team for year number 2. We are extremely excited to have him on board. With judge Dr. Tanner Leonardo and clinician Richard Kearns.

Hello Band family, Alumni, parents, and special sponsors. We have 2 very incredible opportunities to support our band.

1. The first is our Band Pad where we practice and play. Unfortunately we do not have a safe space for our students to practice in front ensemble. We are currently about to field the largest front ensemble and they will not fit on the current wood paneling that we have laid down to keep them out of the mud. There are ants and other dangers that are present with this make-shift practice area. We have amazing folks that do amazing work and some of you know some amazing companies. We are looking into a 5 year sponsorship for the purchasing of concrete for our pad that includes a logo on our band trailer that sits in front of the school and travels with us everywhere as well as announcements at every game for 5 years and at any competitions where sponsorship announcements are allowed. They will be featured as the primary sponsor of the Community Drumline Invitational (CDI) and featured on our band shirts, and indoor percussion shirts for 5 years. The logo will be features on all initial promotional material for the contest and announced during contests as well.

2. The second is the purchasing of a class set of xylophone/marimbas for our middle school 6th grade students. They will not be able to take home large instruments on busses this year as we as a district are growing very quickly. That means they need to be able to practice mallets at home with their rented marimbas and be able to perform at school with the class set of xylophones. Please contact [email protected] if you wish to assist in buying 1 approximately $200 instrument or multiple. We need a total of 16 which is 8 per middle school campus.

An absolutely phenomenal performance with music at the movies tonight with our concert bands and a wonderful show from the jazz ensemble. Great job to our students and directors tonight even with a power outage during Harry Potter! 😂
