⛳️ Good golf. Great food. An even better cause. πŸ•

We’re getting ready to hit the links for NAHA’s Golf for Blessings in a Backpack on Monday, September 28 at Valley View Golf Club! All proceeds from the scramble benefit Blessings in a Backpack Floyd County and their work to make sure local kids have food to take home on the weekends.

And no great day of golf starts on an empty stomach! A HUGE thank you to Bearno's Floyds K***s for stepping up as our Lunch Sponsor and helping us fuel our golfers before the 1:30 p.m. shotgun start. πŸ•β€οΈ

There’s still time for businesses and community partners to get involved!
Sponsorship opportunities start at just $150, with every level directly supporting the fight against childhood hunger in Floyd County.

Want to golf, sponsor, or support the cause? Call 812-972-8033 for more information.
Thank you, Bearno’s, for helping us take a swing at childhood hunger! β›³οΈπŸ•πŸ’™

Some legacies are measured in awards, songs or headlines. Others are measured in bedtime stories, dog-eared pages, growing imaginations and children who learn to believe that the world is theirs to explore. β€οΈπŸ“š

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has placed millions of books into the hands of children, including so many of our youngest residents at NAHA and children throughout Floyd County.
But the impact is so much bigger than a book arriving in the mail.

It’s a parent and child sitting together at the end of a long day. It’s a toddler learning new words. It’s a preschooler discovering a favorite story and asking to hear it β€œone more time.” It’s a child walking into kindergarten already knowing that books are something to love, not fear.

Dolly understood something incredibly powerful: when we invest in a child’s ability to read, learn and dream, we change far more than one childhood. We open doors to educational success, opportunity and a lifetime of possibilities.

And that impact multiplies.

The children growing up with these books today will someday read to children of their own. The love of learning nurtured in homes across our community will be carried into classrooms, careers and families for generations to come.

At NAHA, we have been incredibly proud to help connect our families with the Imagination Library and to watch those books find their way into the hands, and hearts, of our youngest residents.
Dolly Parton gave the world a lot of beautiful things. But helping millions of children discover the magic of a book may be one of the most extraordinary pieces of her legacy.

Thank you, Dolly, for believing that every child, no matter where they are born or what their circumstances may be, deserves the chance to dream big. ❀️

Those dreams will live on for generations. πŸ“–βœ¨

πŸ πŸ“š Learning, connecting and bringing new ideas home to New Albany!

Members of the NAHA team recently traveled to Indianapolis for the 2026 North Central Regional Council of NAHRO Annual Conference, hosted by Indiana NAHRO. This year’s conference brought together housing and community development professionals from eight states across the Midwest to exchange best practices, share lessons learned and explore ways to better serve residents and communities.

At NAHA, we believe training and continuing education are an investment in our residents, our staff and the future of our organization. The policies, programs and challenges surrounding affordable housing are constantly evolving, and opportunities like this help ensure our team continues to learn, adapt and lead.

Just as important is the opportunity to connect with fellow housing professionals from across Indiana and throughout the region. Sharing what’s working, learning from one another’s challenges and building relationships with other housing professionals helps us bring new ideas, innovative approaches and proven best practices back home to New Albany.

We’re proud to invest in a team that never stops learning, because when our staff grows, our organization gets stronger and we are better equipped to serve our residents. πŸ’™

πŸŽ“βœ¨ FSS SUCCESS: Congratulations, Felicia L.!

We’re proud to celebrate Felicia L., one of our newest Family Self-Sufficiency graduates!

Felicia joined FSS looking for change, a better future, financial stability, and the dream of homeownership. Through hard work, determination, and the support of her FSS team, she says the program helped her grow in so many ways; from employment and education to financial stability and confidence.

Along the way, Felicia took advantage of case management support and opportunities to pursue college courses focused as well as her health. But just as important as the resources were the relationships she built.

When asked about her FSS experience, Felicia shared:
πŸ’¬ β€œA wonderful experience. Having positive role models for guidance.”
And her advice for others says it all:
πŸ’™ β€œFSS has encouraged me to have positive thinking towards my goals, helped me to follow my dreams and achieve greatness.”

Congratulations, Felicia! Your graduation is a celebration of how far you’ve come, and an exciting step toward everything still ahead. We’re proud to have been part of your journey! πŸŽ‰πŸ‘
