This weekend, June 6–7, communities across Kentucky and Southern Indiana will come together for the annual WHAS Crusade for Children Telethon.

Since 1954, the Crusade has grown into one of the most successful community fundraising efforts in the country, providing critical support to organizations serving children with identified health and developmental challenges.

We are incredibly grateful to the WHAS Crusade for Children for investing more than $80,000 in Open Door Youth Services over the years. Their support has helped us strengthen programs, improve services, and better serve vulnerable youth throughout Southern Indiana.

The Crusade is truly a backbone of support for so many organizations like ours, and its impact can be felt in communities across the region every day.

Be sure to tune in to the telethon this Saturday and Sunday and consider supporting this incredible tradition of helping children thrive. Thank you, WHAS Crusade for Children, for all you do!

Today we’re celebrating an incredible milestone for our Assistant Director, Alisha, on 18 years with Open Door Youth Services πŸŽ‰! Over the past 18 years, Alisha has become one of the driving forces behind Open Door. Her role reaches far beyond a title. From hiring and training staff, coaching and supporting team members, helping manage day-to-day operations, overseeing programs, and making sure things keep moving forward behind the scenes, she truly has her hand in almost every part of our organization. Alisha’s leadership dedication have helped shape Open Door into what it is today. She is someone our staff can lean on for guidance and support, and someone our youth benefit from every single day whether they realize it or not. No matter the challenge, Alisha is always willing to step up, problem solve, and do whatever is needed to support our mission and the young people we serve.

Her commitment to Open Door and to this community has made a lasting impact on countless lives over the years. Thank you, Alisha, for 18 years of hard work, leadership, and dedication. We are incredibly grateful for everything you do and lucky to have you as part of the Open Door team! πŸŽ‰

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us this morning for our 9th Annual 5K Run/Walk Fundraiser!

We know the weather was far from ideal, so we especially appreciate everyone who still came out in the rain to support Open Door Youth Services and the youth we serve in our community. Thank you to our runners, walkers, volunteers, sponsors, staff, and community partners for helping make today possible. Events like this directly support our efforts to strengthen and improve our youth shelter and services for young people in crisis here in Southern Indiana. We’re incredibly grateful for the support shown today and apologize again for the rainy conditions.

Photos and race results will be posted soon to our Vince Klein Run like a Superhero Memorial 5K page!
