This class included map reading, compass orientating, rope & rigging and patient packaging. We had roughly 20 student that are members of Fire Departments in Union and Lee counties, two Union County Supervisors and for the mock search the Civil Air Patrol Cadets from Tupelo participated. Thanks to Union County EMA Director and Mississippi Homeland Security Instructor Curt Clayton and New Albany Fire/Rescue Capitan Richie Bryant for leading the class.

As many already know, a member of our team was lost this past weekend who was instrumental in getting our team, and especially our dive team up and running. Hank Weaver was a class act whether he was on a dive, land search, in the nursing arena or just out and about.

In this photo he is doing an interview with WTVA about a Dive Rodeo that was hosted by MSARA back in 2011. Not only was Hank an vital piece to our team but he helped train and assist other throughout the state.

Please keep his family in your prayers during this difficult time.
