Join us for the 2026 Tallahatchie Riverfest in Historic Downtown New Albany on Saturday, September 26, 2026!

We're now accepting applications for vendors who would like to be part of one of North Mississippi's favorite festivals featuring live music, food, shopping, family fun, and more along the banks of the Tallahatchie River.

What began as a small settlement along the Tallahatchie River in 1840 grew into a thriving trade center for Northeast Mississippi. Every building, wagon, and storefront in this photo tells part of the story of the people who helped shape our community.

It’s amazing to think that many of the men and women standing on this dusty street lived through Reconstruction, saw the arrival of the railroad, and witnessed New Albany’s transformation from a frontier mill town into the county seat of Union County.

More than a century later, the spirit of New Albany remains the same: a community built on hard work, resilience, and pride in its heritage.

Join us during New Albany’s America 250th Celebration on Saturday, June 27th as our furry friends take over Downtown New Albany in red, white, and blue style! Dress up your pets and parade with us as we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary together. 🐶🐱⭐

📍 Parade begins in front of the New Albany Main Street office
🕓 Pet parade line-up starts at 4:15 PM
📍 135 E Bankhead St.
🐾 Route will go down Railroad Ave and return to the Main Street office.

✨ Open to all ages
✨ Costumes encouraged
✨ Favorite “Spotlight Picks” will be featured on social media after the parade!

Please remember:
• Pets must remain on a leash or safely contained at all times
• Pets must be safely transportable in a vehicle
