Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy each day, and we remain forever grateful.

This Memorial Day, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect, remember, and honor our fallen heroes.

This week our Chief’s and the city of New Albany presented our administrative assistant Teresa Hammond with a certificate recognizing her 26 years of service with the city of New Albany

Prior to working for our department, Teresa gor her start as the street departments admin assistant back in 2000.

Congrats Tee on your 26 years with the city.

Every day, our EMTs from the NAFD, and EMTs and paramedics from Ameripro EMS, answer the call with compassion, professionalism, and dedication to serving our community when it matters most. From medical emergencies to life-saving care, they make a difference in countless lives each and every day.

This past weekend our crew of Station 2 located at Community Park hosted children from the Pilot Club's safety town. The group of children were given a tour of the station and shown the various apparatuses and equipment housed at the firehouse.

Our members are always happy to assist in this type of events throughout the year.

This past Sunday we were asked to participate in honoring Mr. Walter McKnight who was celebrating his 100th birthday. Mr. McKnight is a resident of the Mansion on Main and also a Navy veteran who served in WW II.

Please join our department in wishing a happy 100th birthday to Mr. McKnight and in thanking him for his service to our country.

This past weekend the City of New Albany's Parks and Recreation held their annual "Touch a Truck" event at our Station 3 located on E. Spring St. This event is always a highly attended event and with the weather this past weekend this years event was no exception. NAFD is always happy to participate in the event.

Today the NAFD happily took care of lunch for our city dispatchers in honor of National Public Safety Telecommunications week. Please join us in thanking these heroes that are the "first" first responders during an emergency.

Centerpoint is currently on scene and working to mitigate the situation.

🚧 Traffic Alert: Road Closure at Daisy Lane & Grant Line Road

Earlier this morning, the driver of a van struck a utility pole near the intersection of Daisy Lane and Grant Line Road, causing a rupture in a gas line.

Emergency crews are currently on scene and working to safely repair the damage. The intersection will remain closed for several hours while repairs are completed.

UPDATE (11:38am): The gas leak has been successfully stopped. Crews remain on scene working to repair the damaged utility pole. The intersection will remain closed for several more hours until repairs are completed.
