We serve a God who fights for us, and that’s not something to take lightly. Before time began, He already knew every battle we’d face, every obstacle that would stand in our way, and every moment we’d feel like giving up. Through all that, He still showed up anyway.

Sometimes we forget who we’re praying to. We treat God like a last resort when He should be our first response, and we worry ourselves into exhaustion over battles that were never ours to fight in the first place. God doesn’t observe from a distance. Rather, He moves, He acts, and He wins, even if we don’t immediately see it.

Whatever you’re up against today, don’t face it like you’re alone, because you’re not.

Have a blessed Sunday.

This week is Right of Way Professionals Week, and I want to recognize the men and women who do this important work across Mississippi.

Many of the utility services we depend on every day begin with careful planning, coordination, and strong working relationships. Their work often happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt across our state. People who serve in these positions play an important role in keeping Mississippians connected and prepared for the future.

Thank you to every right of way professional serving our communities. I'm grateful for the work you do and the role you play in keeping Mississippi connected.

HEAT AND HUMIDITY ON THE RISE as the first significant stretch of summer heat is settling across Mississippi and the Mid-South this week. Afternoon temperatures will climb into the low to mid 90s, and when combined with high humidity, heat index values will reach 100° to 107° in many locations through at least Friday.
Heat Advisories are already in effect for parts of the region, and additional heat products may be needed each day as dangerous heat-stress conditions persist. While a few afternoon thunderstorms may provide localized relief, most areas will remain hot and humid.
