Meet 1 of the New Albany Track Club season, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, has been pushed back to a later start time.

All second-graders will run at 7 p.m., followed by the third- and fourth-grade girlsโ€™ race and then the third- and fourth-grade boysโ€™ race.

The final race is expected to finish by 8 p.m., with the awards ceremony scheduled to conclude by 8:15 p.m.

The Music in the Park concert featuring the Community Music Alliance Community Choir scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026, at Sam Peden Community Park has been postponed.

All performances will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. at Shelter House 1. Donโ€™t forget to bring a lawn or bag chair and enjoy giant yard games and activities provided by Floyd County Parks.

A big congratulations to 10-year-old Kason Hinson, a fifth-grader at Scribner Middle School, on catching an impressive catfish Monday night from Kiwanis Lake at Sam Peden Community Park! ๐ŸŸ๐ŸŸ๐ŸŸ

We spoke with Kason shortly after his big catch, and he was still full of excitement. When asked what he enjoys doing, Kason told us he โ€œloves to fish, play my Xbox, play baseball, wrestling and have fun outdoors.โ€

After a quick photo, the fish was safely released back into the lake.

๐€๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ ๐•๐จ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ž๐ฒ๐›๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐Ž๐ฉ๐ž๐ง ๐๐ฅ๐š๐ฒ is returning in September to the Southern Indiana Sports Center on Monday nights following the completion of our current Summer Adult Volleyball League.

With both competitive and recreational courts available, players of all skill levels will have the opportunity to get involved, stay active and play at their own pace. Whether youโ€™re looking for high-level competition or a fun night on the court, thereโ€™s a place for everyone.
