New Augusta Public Library

I've had several people tell me recently they thought we were closed!! Please tell your family and friends and neighbors the New Augusta Public Library is DEFINITELY open. We are open 4 days a week (Monday through Thursday) from 11:30a to 5:30p. I'm not sure why this misconception continues but please help us let people know its not true. Thanks.

You can find James Patterson's "Billion Dollar Ransom" on our new arrivals shelf as of 5 minutes ago! Two of our frequent patrons have read it and highly recommend it.

I'm just now putting 16 books on the new arrivals cart. Almost all of them have been made into movies at some point but the book is always better! We have Fahrenheit 451, Something Wicked This Way Comes, A Clockwork Orange, Catch-22, I Am Legend, All the Pretty Horses, The Road (EXCELLENT book and movie!), 1984, The Catcher in the Rye, Stoker's Dracula and 6 others. Some good reading here! See you soon.

Our Children's Book of the Week is "Tom's First Day at School" by Beth Robbins!
Kids will love following along as Tom experiences his first day at school, and is relieved to learn that it isn't as bad as his sister told him it would be! 🍎✏️🎒

Here's some pictures from yesterday's event with FGH Trauma Services and MDOT. The kids really enjoyed the little roll-over car and learned how how important it is to wear your seat belt. Kailee Brewer from FGH Trauma provided some other safety tips for the kiddies. Whew! That's it for our summer program for the kids until next year. Thanks to everybody who participated.

Today is our last summer kids event at the New Augusta Public Library. Forrest General Trauma Services and MDOT will provide a fun demonstration of a car roll-over without a seatbelt on. This should be fun AND educational! Let's bring the kids out to participate for this last event. We have cookies, chips, and drinks for the kiddies as well!

We have four new books on the new arrivals shelf today by Malka Adler, Kristin Hannah, Danielle Steel, and the ancient Greek poet, Homer! Let us know if you've ever read any of these titles!
