🚨 LOCK YOUR VEHICLES! 🚨

The New Baden Police Department is reminding all residents to take a few simple steps to help prevent vehicle-related crimes.

Between June 18, 2026, and July 9, 2026, the Police Department investigated the following incidents:
• Stolen Vehicle
• Theft of Gas
• Burglaries to Motor Vehicles

These incidents occurred in the areas of Poos Dr, W Cedar St, and Pine St.

Help protect yourself by following these simple tips:
🔒 Always lock your vehicle, even if it's parked in your driveway.
🔑 Never leave keys or key fobs inside your vehicle.
🎒 Remove or conceal valuables such as purses, wallets, fi****ms, electronics, and other personal belongings.
💡 Park in well-lit areas whenever possible.
👀 Report any suspicious activity to the New Baden Police Department immediately.

Many vehicle-related thefts are crimes of opportunity. Taking a few extra seconds to lock your doors and secure your belongings can go a long way toward preventing you from becoming a victim.

Village Hall has issued Solicitor Permits to individuals from:
* Spartan Solar (Residential Solar - Yearly Permit)

They can only solicit between 10am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday. These solicitors have been verified by the New Baden Police Department.

As a reminder: whenever someone comes to your door, ask to see their solicitors permit before discussing anything with them. The Village of New Baden issues very few permits (most companies try to avoid them). Attached is an example the Village's Solicitor’s License. They are always yellow in color and will have my signature on them.

Anytime someone comes to your door and you have an issue or a concern about them, please call the Police Department, 618-588-7741 ext 1, IMMEDIATELY. Do not wait for a more convenient time as the solicitor could possibly move on from the area. Solicitation hours are only from 10am to 5pm, Monday through Saturday. No solicitation is allowed on Sundays or Holidays.

If you notice door-to-door solicitation after 5pm, please contact the New Baden Police Department, 618-588-7741 ext 1.

You can also post a sign on your door that states "ONLY REGISTERED SOLICITORS INVITED" OR "NO SOLICITORS INVITED"

5/30/26 245pm UPDATE: procession is approx 25 minutes out from New Baden.

The Village of New Baden would like to share the arrangements and procession details for New Baden Police Officer Dave Jordan on Saturday, May 30, 2026.

Visitation will be held from 12:30pm to 2:00pm at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home in Belleville, followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm officiated by Msgr. William McGhee. The service is expected to last 30-45 minutes.

Following the service, a procession will travel to New Baden Village Park for final prayers. The procession route will travel Illinois 159 to the Belleville Square, down East Main Street to Carlyle Avenue, then State Route 161 into New Baden and to the the Village Park (1103 E Hanover St).

Volunteers will be onsite to assist with parking.

At the park, police vehicles will surround the gazebo while family, friends and fellow officers gather for final prayers. Officer Dave Jordan’s Last Call 10-42 will be broadcast over the radio.

We thank everyone for the continued thoughts, prayers, and support during this difficult time.

The Flagman’s Mission Continues needs help from the community of
NEW BADEN ILLINOIS
and surrounding communities to create a memorial of flags:
on: Thursday May 28th, 2026 and Sunday May 31st, 2026
Up to 600 (3 x 5 flags on 10-foot poles) to show respect to a fallen hero. If you can carry 5-lbs and walk you can help!
Should be able to accomplish this in about 3 hours with enough help

• Youth groups, children (prefer over the age of 11) are encouraged to help.
• There is no commitment or sign up, just show up either or both days if you can. We need just as many people to take down the flags as we need to set them up.
