Anyone who would like to pickup trash on the edges of a road please call or stop by the Town Clerks off and sign up for the road that you would like to work on, and pick up the number of bags you will need, bags will also be available at the highway garage and recycle center during business hours. Please leave tied back roadside, and they will be picked up by the highway department on the following Monday morning.

Thank you in advance for helping keep our Town a neat place to live.

Good evening all, this post is to inform our residents that in the coming weeks the speed limit on Deans Mill Road between County Route 51 and West Deans Mill Road will be reduced from 40 miles per hour to 35 miles per hour. This change was requested through State DOT in January of 2025, and we received their approval this past week. This reduction will make this area safer for residents who live in this are , those who walk or ride bikes, and the farm located on Deans Mill Road.

New signs will be installed soon, and I will make a follow up post when they are done. Please help keep our communities safe by following the posted speed limits.

Thanks
Alan

Good morning! Town and County Roads are littered with debris this morning! Use caution, crews are out checking and doing cleanup!

Good evening all, please use caution if you are traveling on Hillcrest Road, between Route 26 and Staco Road. There has been some damage to the road which caused a large bump. Cones have been put in the area to warn motorists for tonight, a repair will be made in the morning.

Thanks
Alan

Good morning all, not much ice to speak of this morning, however we are putting down a light coat of sand/salt mix just to make sure everything is ok. As of now it appears all schools are running on time. Have a great weekend! Spring is coming!

Good morning all, here is where we stand as of right now for the upcoming storm. We will have our entire full time crew, minus me, as I am still down with COVID, and some of our dedicated part timers to handle whatever comes our way. Please be patient as snow will come down fast and furious at times making visibility difficult. Lawns may be damaged along with mailboxes, and as I stated in an earlier post this is never done intentionally, and repairs will be made at the earliest convenience. If anyone has any issues and you would like to call and speak to our personnel with respect, they will be happy to speak with you and address your concerns, however if you choose to call, and yell profanity and swear at our employees, your concerns will be listened to when you can call back and show some respect.

Working together is the best way for everyone to get through these storms, and for the highway department to attempt to meet everyone’s expectations!

Thank You, and remember to park those vehicles out of harms way, and bring in those trash cans.

Good morning all, in recent days, we have received some calls regarding areas where our plows have dug up or damaged some lawns. As always I assure you this isn’t done intentionally, and as always our crew will be around in the spring to repair any damaged areas, even though we are not required to do so by law, we do it as a courtesy to our residents. Please be patient.

Thanks
Alan

Hi everyone, just want to let those who live on Dugway Lane, Lydon Lane , School Hill Road, Mount Missery Road, Shady Lane, Gedney Hill Road and Alcove Road, that I am out of work with COVID, and the driver that normally plows these roads could not work today due to family issues, and we have a truck broke down. There is currently a truck headed that way, I sincerely apologize for this delay, you should see him shortly.

Good cold morning all, as of now all roads including normally drifted areas are open and passable. The crew will be around tomorrow morning with the big trucks to push snow banks back and open things up more. If you should come across any areas that you feel needs immediate attention please feel free to give us a call and we will tend to it.

Stay warm and safe!
