The Connecticut Castles Road Trip takes you to five amazing castles across the state. Gillette Castle in East Haddam was built by actor William Gillette, who played Sherlock Holmes, and the place feels like something right out of a mystery story. Castle Craig in Meriden sits high in the Hanging Hills, and you can climb the tower for wide-open views of the valley. In Woodstock, Chris Mark Castle stands over a lake and looks like a real fairytale come to life. Hearthstone Castle in Danbury is now in ruins but still shows signs of its grand past. Saint Clements Castle & Marina in Portland wraps up your trip with river views, gardens, and classic stonework.
