The James Arnold Mansion is undergoing wonderful improvements to the property! Each month we will be showcasing the progress. This month we are the replacement of our solarium doors. The “before” pictures are the first two pictures and the “after” pictures are the last two pictures.

The James Arnold Mansion had the privilege of hosting students from Bridgewater State University at the mansion this past summer. The five-week program, led by Professor Dr. Michael Zimmerman, met over the summer to perform field work at the James and Sarah Arnold Mansion and Grounds in New Bedford. During the artifact dig this summer, students uncovered a variety of interesting items, including an engraved coat button and pieces of smoking pipes dating back to the 1800’s.
