Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts, Inc.

JA is a 501(c) nonprofit organization on a mission to inspire and prepare young people

We teach local students about financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship through a series of distinct, age-appropriate courses, kindergarten through high school, usually offered as part of Social Studies. The courses are presented by a JA-trained volunteer, most often from a local business, but also from parents, a PTO, a college campus, or from retired individuals. The Volunteer Comm

itment:
1 class period visit per week (45 min - 1 hour), for 5-7 consecutive weeks in a classroom that suits the volunteer’s preferences. The course components, including a step-by-step Course Guide and training, are provided by JA. The materials are activity-driven and fun: posters, puzzles, signs, stickers, pins, board games, role-playing items, etc.
